Delaware County Council Passes 2011 Budget with NO Tax Increase

Delaware County Council doing a great job
on holding the line on spending and taxes!

Per Media Town Talk:

Delaware County Council gave final approval to a 2011 budget of $316 million, holding the real estate tax millage rate at 5.185 mills for the second consecutive year.

In dollars and cents, that means the tax rate will be $5.18 for each $1,000 of assessed property value. A house assessed at $100,000 will continue to pay $518 in county taxes next year.

“This budget has been passed without a tax increase on the residents of Delaware County,” said Council Chair Jack Whelan, adding that “it was no small task.”
