Another Restaurant/Market coming to Media: Desert Rose - Mediterranean Cuisine

The latest addition to the Media State Street restaurant scene will be an eatery/market by the name of Desert Rose.  The business will occupy the former site of Selene's Co-op on the west side of State St.

Not much to report other than what's been posted in the windows, but it looks to feature some kind of market with perhaps a sit-down section.

With a Mediterranean flair, this ought to add nicely to an excellent selection of great restaurants.
Welcome to Media!

  1. There definitely is a Mediterranean/Middle Eastern gap in the cuisine options of the Borough. I am looking forward to this place opening and hope it offers some well prepared dishes.

  2. Although I have to say, *another* restaurant? One of the things that makes Media a vibrant, livable community is a variety of businesses on State Street. We need service, retail, and restaurants.

  3. Brendan,
Media will be restaurants, salons hair and nail and bars. With all the big box stores and malls retail can not survive on state street. It is a shame the public does not support the "little guy" anymore its Wall-mart, Target, BJ's ect. atleast we don't have an aplebees' iron hill is bad enough Save a dollar ruin small town business.

  6. As the owner and Chef or Desert Rose it is very exciting to see people talking about my new restaurant! We are planning on opening in March or sooner! Without giving too much away we will have seating, we will be serving Mediterranean Rim Cuisine with and emphasis on Morrocan and Israeli street food. It will be a limited opening for the first few weeks until we really get rolling. I will be introducing Media's 1st Chef's Table "The Shulhan" or The Table an 8 top private table (You will be the only table the night that you are there) it will be a traditional Mediterranean family style dining with a tasting menu on top. Think Zahav meets Talula's Table. I very much look forward to bring a new style of cuisine to my hometown. Look forward to serving you all very soon.
