Media's Memorial Day Parada w/Video 2012

It was a great day for Media's Memorial Day parade.  Here's a short video of the event.

Media VFW: Memorial Day in Media 2012

Media's 2012 Memorial Day Parade starts at 10am on State St. today.  A special thanks to Media's VFW for their dedicated efforts towards laying wreaths throughout town to commemorate the day.

It's Sunday Morning 5-27-12 - Media in Two Minutes

Memorial Day weekend means different things to different people. Whether that includes vacation, beach, kicking back and staying home or bbq's with family and friends; they're all good choices.  However, remember, Media has one of the best Parades around to honor those who have paid to ultimate price.  Thanks to all who have served!  Media's proud to host this parade year-after-year.

The Parade starts Monday, May 28th 2012, at 10am.

Media Elementary goes to Nativity...
This is a done deal.  Media will be transitioning to the soon to be vacant Nativity School.  They will still need modular class rooms where the Nativity playground is, but this is welcomed news I think everyone appreciates.  No time frame yet, but I'm sure there will be updates throughout the Summer.

Since we're on the topic, Media lost a great person recently who taught at Penncrest and was the President of the Science Institute of Delaware County, Al Palmer.  My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family.

Secondly, the Lou Scott Golf Outing will be June 5th at the Glen Mills Golf Club.

State Street Blues Stroll - Saturday, June 9th
This time of year gets busy for Media.  Dining Under the Stars kicks the season off, which is quickly followed by the biggest musical event in Media, The Blues Stroll.  This is not only professionally produced by a lot of volunteers in town, but it's a great show that never disappoints.  I prefer the roots ramble, but this is the event that got it all started.

The Famous Media 5 Miler - Friday, June 15th
This has gotten so big and popular that it's taken on a life of it's own.  I ran the Broad Street Run two years ago, but have never ran the Media 5 miler.  I'm told that running 5 miles in Media for this race is harder than the 10 miles down Broad St.  Heck, I'll take their word for it, but if you're not into running, that's okay.  The social aspect of the "Race" brings people from all around to partake in house parties and events on State Street.  In fact, some streets go as far as having block parties to celebrate the night.

Third St. Bridge
I don't have anything to report on this, which is nice for a change.  The sooner this gets done the better.

The Restaurant Scene
Diego's get a new sign out front and an update to the menu. People told me there was a big crowd there last Friday evening.

Philly.com did a story an photo shoot on the "Land of a Thousand Restaurants"  They didn't get pictures of Little Anthony's or Roz's Fast and Fancy, but great to see Media getting exposure for the stellar eateries we have in town.

Top restaurant searches this week that led to ATM (in order of popularity)
  1. La Porta
  2. Spasso
  3. Diego's
  4. Desert Rose
Media Road Resurfacing:
They don't list time frames, but Media Borough will be conducting road re-surfacing.  Here's the list of roads to be done.

Did you know?
Did you know we have a lot of great residents in town who go the extra mile to help others?  We do, and it's people like Lauren Avellino Turton who work all year long raising money for the Tug McGraw Foundation.  The foundation raises money for brain cancer research.  Tug was quite fond of Media and it's great to see people and places like the Plumstead Inn helping out to make a difference.

Lauren is also a reporter for media.patch.com where you can read her outstanding articles on her efforts towards helping others.  Nice job, Lauren!

Penncrest High School: Lou Scott Classic Golf Outing June 5th

As an alumni, It's hard to describe Penncrest High school without also mentioning former principal, Lou Scott.  To me, the two are almost synonymous.  The tireless work he did for the school and the area communities is legendary.  He was not only an educator, disciplinarian and all around great guy, but challenged his students to be the best they could be.

He set a standard of class, dignity and respect which not only defined him, but was a direct reflection on Penncrest and the students he oversaw.

The annual Lou Scott Classic golf outing is June 5th.  Details can be found on the Media Town Talk website.

Diego's gets a sign and update to the menu.

Diego's Cantina & Tequila Bar gets a new sign out front.  Also, an update to the well received menu. New, Huevos Rancheros!  Check out their FB Page for up to the minute announcements.

RTM School Board gets job done for Media Elementary

When Media Elementary made the unexpected announcement back in March that the school would be closed for the coming school year 2012/2013 due to building structure issues, the news made many families nervous of the uncertain future of where their children would go to school.  Would the school district consider  modules on Barrall field, busing to another school in the district, re-opening the old Roosevelt School or perhaps consider the soon to be vacant Nativity BVM?  Some options more inconvenient than others, but all were real possibilities.

A few weeks ago Superintendent, James Wigo held a "town hall" at Media Elementary and reviewed the options they had on hand to deal with the situation.  Of all of the them, some quite expensive; Superintended Wigo  told the audience that he was 98% certain that they could work a deal with Nativity BVM.  This week that reached 100% and Media Elementary will be utilizing the soon vacant Nativity building. There is a great article this week from Media Patch explaining the details.

Timing played a part in this decision, but so did the RTM school board for actively mitigating this issue in short time.  The situation was defined to families, expectations set and communicated on a timely basis; as a final decision was worked out towards the benefit for all.   Kudos to the Superintendent, James Wigo; President, Linda Fox and the rest of the school board including Media's school board appointee, Chris Guilday for successfully handling what was a potential BIG issue for Media.  Based on my discussions, Media Elementary families are quite pleased with the outcome and the decisive manner it which this was handled.

Media Rugby since 1978

Media Youth Rugby
People are often familiar with football, baseball, basketball and lacrosse, but rugby?  If you're from Media or grew up in the area you'd know that Media has had one of the most successful rugby football teams around.    They've been an established club since 1978!  You've probably seen people wearing sweatshirts or maybe a flyer or two, but did you know Media also has a youth rugby league?

In fact, this is the youngster's first year that they've made it to the Eastern Pennsylvania Championship.  On Sunday, June 3rd they will be playing an exhibition at PPL park in Chester before a nationally televised audience.  That's big time, Media Rugby!  If you'd like more information, please check out their website

Media loses a great man who made an impact on many, Al Palmer (aka Mr. Palmer).

I knew him as Mr. Palmer back in high school where he taught me science at Penncrest.  A gentleman who didn't say a whole lot, but taught with passion and enthusiasm that made a lasting impact on his students.  He later went on to be President of the Delaware County Institute of Science, where many people in town knew him.  I'd see him in Media often either at the institute or driving around in his truck with a bumper sticker, "Eat my hitch."

Sadly,  Mr. Palmer succumbed to cancer this week; a battle he fought courageously. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family.  I'm glad to have been a student of his and to have known the great things he advocated for not only Media, but for Delaware County and surrounding areas.

What Happened at 3rd and Lemon St.?

sheared telephone pole
It takes a lot of force to snap a telephone pole in half, but that was the scene at 3rd and Lemon St. on the northern side of Lemon.  It's not clear what exactly happened, but from what people are saying a car accident occurred in the early morning hours last week.

A vehicle going at this velocity couldn't have have generated this much force from being at a stand still at the stop sign a mere 50ft. away.  It's believed that the car went through the stop sign, became air borne and struck the pole.

It's Sunday Morning 5-20-12......Media in two minutes

I was out of town last week, but people were still able to find me with updates they had for Sunday.  I wasn't able to get last Sunday's "Media in Two Minutes" out on ATM, but we have a lot in store for you this week.   Speaking of which, if I had more time I'd love to cover Middletown and Upper Prov and Edgmont, but there's not enough of me to go around. Send me what you have, I'll post it.

Okay, Let's Go.........

Online News and where to get it:
Sometimes I take all of this hyperlocal reporting for granted.  I wasn't aware that people weren't familiar with media.patch.com.  They are not a blog, but a credited news reporting service that's primarily online.  Editor, Courtney Elko does a great job and really fills a niche for this type of reporting.  No paper print, just a website covering local news.   They're popular nationally, but cover many surronding areas like Marple, West Chester, etc.

Also check out delcotimes.com too.  Editor, Phil Heron is a big advocate of local reporting, blogs and social media.  So, get involved and let's hear what's on your mind.

Third St. Bridge and the "arrest":
The vote went 5-2 in favor of proceeding with the court order stipulation that was settled between the borough, BLCC and the county.  I haven't agreed with Council President, Brian Hall on many things, but he did do the right thing last Thursday by voting in favor of the court order and that should be recognized.  I'd extend that to Rehoric, Roe, Stein, and Simpson also.

Unfortunately, things got out of hand shortly after the vote was final on Thursday night.   It was only a matter of time, but political tensions reached their zenith and Paul Indorf assaulted a member of the BLCC board.   The motive was purely political over the decision towards the 3rd St. dam.  Mr. Indorf founded  a group called "Friend/s of the 3rd St. Dam" and was very outspoken on bridge/dam issues.

The Restaurant Scene: Welcome Mango!
Valet Parking
There were a few comments this week on mixed reviews of La Porta.  It opened Thursday and like all restaurants, I'm sure it had some bumps to work out.  I hope to get there soon, but did see today that they have valet parking.

Mango Frozen Yogurt

Media has Mango Frozen Yogurt!  I wasn't aware they came to town, but yesterday was their grand opening.  They are located on 300 block of E. Baltimore Pike. Welcome to Media, Mango!!!!

Something you don't see everyday
Beemster Blue Cow
Battleship - Missouri
Last week there was a blue cow and battleship parked on State St.  Yep, the blue cow was for Beemster's cheese who were advertising outside of 320 Cafe.

The mighty Missouri Battleship was parked in front of the Veteran's Museum helping to promote their efforts.   During Dining Under the Stars, the museum will have special hours.  I'll get some more promotion out for the museum later this week.

Iron Hill's Craft Brewers' Fest:
Another year sold out which is great.  Proceeds go to the Media Youth Center and have been as high as $17,000 for this yearly and popular event.  Everyone has a good time at this festival and the Media Police do an exceptional job at keeping everything fun.  Great day too and seemed bigger than last year.

Keep up the great work Iron Hill and thanks for helping the community.

Look who moved into town....lives on the lake
Last week there was a sighting of an American bald eagle hanging out by the reservoir.  From what people say, it's the first spotting they've seen of an eagle by the lake.  Looks like the eagle is sticking around, as there have been multiple sightings recently.

Rose Tree Summer Concert Series returns
Not only a Media favorite, but a Delaware County favorite too.  You can find the calendar on an earlier post I did this week.

Dining Under the Star
After getting rained out the first two weeks, DUS finally got under way last Wednesday.  Didn't notice anything new this year, but the singing, chalk drawing and participation was great.

Did you know....
  • Jeffrey Gaines was in town last week performing at Burlap in Bean on 252 by Newtown Square.  This guy is good.  He could easily sell out the Media Theatre, let alone the B&B.  I haven't been to the B&B as there are a few coffee shops here in Media, but now I'm interested to check this place out.
  • Town Talk Paper:  The tried and true Town Talk has a new print look for its weekly paper.  I can't remember the last time it changed it's look, but the new style looks good.
  • Hotel in Springfield: Based on a recent article, Springfield will be make plans to build a hotel next to the county club.  Still no word on when Hampton Inn will begin construction in Media.  As of this week, demo permits have still not been submitted.
C-City TV:
I've known Stefan Roots for a few years now.  We both started blogging about the community when people had little idea what a blog was.  He covers Chester with C-City Blog and has recently launched C-City TV.  The guy's a natural broadcaster and has been very successful as the source of news for Chester.  There are no plans yet for an All Things Media, PA TV, but I really like what Stefan does.

Third St. Bridge: Time to move on

In a few weeks people will forget the names, issues and politics behind the Third St. Bridge and the decision in favor of the repair.  Who they shouldn't forget are the people who did  the most to resolve this issue.  That would include former Council President, Pete Alyanakian, former Council Vice President, Monika Rehoric, former Councilman, Jim Cunningham and Councilwoman, Dawn Roe.

If not for their insight and leadership through a bi-partisan cooperative effort, there wouldn't have been a meeting last Thursday to vote on the repair of the bridge/dam.  It wasn't until 2010 when Pete was elected to Council President and Monica Vice President, did any movement happen towards fixing and financing this problem that has plagued Media for the last 16 years.

Not only did they settled the lengthy lawsuit that started in 2006, but they also actively worked to get the funding for the design ($75,000) and assistance ($650,000) from the Commonwealth via Senator Pileggi.  Settling the lawsuit would have been beyond expectation, but to secure financing in this day in age where state cuts are happening all over the place is truly remarkable.  Whether the outcome was to you liking or not, these are the people who didn't just talk about it, but went out and got it done!  What they accomplished in 1 year through bipartisanship , was more than what previous democratic majorities had done in 15.

Prior to being elected last November, Councilman Paul Robinson and President Brian Hall both held Vice President postions on prior Media Borough councils.  Non only did the Third St. issue languish under their terms, but not once did they ever mention a "greenway."  In fact, neither did the democratic majority who unanimously approved the settlement that was agreed upon with the stakeholders last Summer.  If it was a vital issue, that would have been the time to plan a contingency for a "greenway," not after a signed court order.  As for the Chair of the CAC who called to angrily complaining to the RTM schoolboard about a agenda item they were to discuss on Third St. (which was approved); further shows how badly this current council is handling their duties and mistreating those who they disagree with.  The CAC should have been objectively soliciting input for Media on the bridge, not calling a school board telling them what they should and shouldn't discuss on their agenda!  Unbelievable!

I've written about my displeasure with the CAC, but they did dedicate a lot of effort to the cause and I thank them for their time.  There is one very important reason why more people didn't participate in the CAC, which was substantiated on Thursday night:  With a court order in place outlining how the dam/bridge should be constructed, it made no sense to waste time on "planning/options." The harsh reality was that there was never any "open for interpretation"  possibility regarding the court order.  Whether that was "campaign" talk or just meant to placate a special interest is unknown.  What is known, is that Media Borough council not setting the expectation of the court order led to Thursday night's fiasco.  People who have been waiting for this vote for years were misled to believe through the CAC, surveys and petitions; that they had a very good position for a "greenway" and probably expected a vote supporting such.  What they got was a 5-2 vote approving the design based on the court order.  One person didn't take it well, assaulted at BLCC member after the vote and is now in jail.

At the end of the day Media will be getting the bridge and dam fixed.  As interesting as this has all been, moving forward is now the next step.

Check Back for Tonight's Vote on the Fate of 3rd St. Bridge

Except for maybe a local election here in Media, tonigh's vote on Third St. Bridge will be up there in terms of having the town's attention. I dunno, after 16 years and millions of dollars, this could actually be bigger....at least for some depending on what you think is best for the town.

I expect council chambers to be full with people in attendance, along with many spilling out into the hallway.  With coverage expected from Philly Fox News and others, this will no doubt be an interesting meeting.  Based on the agenda and where this item falls on that list, I don't expect it'll be addressed until closer to 9pm.  For those not attending you can tune in to see the meeting on Comcast (Channel 10) and Verizon FIOS (Channel 42).

I'm sure the outcome of the vote will make it almost realtime to Facebook and Twitter.  I'll also post the outcome  here on ATM.

Third St Bridge: You play stupid games, you win stupid prizes

Last Thursday's "public comment" meeting on Third St. Bridge didn't  produce anything ground breaking in terms of new ideas.  The purpose was to get a fresh perspective on any new options that haven't been heard before by borough council, but there weren't any.   Instead, the audience was given the floor to speak on what should be done about the situation.  It included discussion on the well known opinions: road with traffic, green way, breaching.  In fact, it felt like the exact same meeting that was scheduled six months ago to discuss the very same topic.  It was well attended but equally divided between those who wanted a road with traffic, against those who wanted anything but.

Perhaps former councilman Jim Cunningham said it best by telling the group and borough council that they should do the best they can, for the the greatest amount of people for the longest amount of time.  And that included accepting the court order for vehicular traffic across the bridge.  With an approved agreement from the three stakeholders and a fully completed design in place that's 100% financed, Media is on the brink of a community disaster should council not accept and move forward with this plan.  It's not just Media, but a ground swell of people including Middletown and Upper Providence who are standing behind opening this bridge to traffic.  The RTM school board emphasized the importance as well, but passing a resolution in support of the bridge last week.

Media Dem. Party at work for a greenway.
Unfortunately, it's now apparent that a select few on Media Borough council wanted the "deck stacked" in a green way all along.  After all that I've reported about the one sided CAC, lost surveys, lack of a report from the Media businesses, no presentation from first responders, current councilmen who as candidates signed petitions for a green way, and on and on; there is one last piece that residents should know about Media's leadership.

Last week I was contact about a call made by a member of Media borough council to the school board about the agenda item they were to discuss at last Tuesday's meeting.  From what I learned, this councilperson called up angrily complaining that the school board had no business meddling in Media affairs over the third street bridge.  If borough council was objective and fair about the process for 3rd Street Bridge, these types of calls wouldn't be made. However, when you're providing a kick-back vote to a group whose petition you signed, I suppose anything is possible here in Media.

The school board went on to pass the resolution to open the third street bridge unanimously. However, this just illustrates my point of the disingenuous representation of this town and the political agendas by the Media Democratic Party that CONTINUE to take a toll on the tax payer and residents of Media. Here we are believing that our Media elected officials are looking out for our best interest, when in fact they are trying to use political sway and hard-line tactics against entities that disagree with their own interests.  That's not government, that's an embarrassment for all Media voters....democrat or republican.

Transparency?  I suppose someone on Borough Council last Thursday forgot to mention that side conversation with the school board to the audience.  Leadership you can trust?  The actions speak for themselves.

Don't let political agendas win.  The vote on what will happen to this bridge is Thursday, May 17th 8pm.

A Hotel in Springfield? What about Media?

Interesting news reported today by the DelcoNews Network with regard to discussions being held in Springfield about a proposed hotel near the site of the Springfield Country Club.  As it is now, your only other choice for a "Brand Name" hotel is out in Concordville or down by by the Phila. airport.  Both a bit out of the way if you live in the immediate Media area.

Springfield might have a good thing here with this proposal.  Assuming this will be tied into the existing country club facilities (bar, restaurant, golf course, event facility) this may be more of a destination than just hotel off of the 495 Blue Route.  That could possibly give it an edge over what is to come in Media with the Hampton Inn.

With Springfield pursuing a hotel and the Franklin Mint site in Middletown also interested in one, what's that leave for Media's need for a hotel?  Most of the plans have been finalized and approved for the Hampton Inn, but it's still unclear what the builder is waiting for.  By now I would have though a demolition permit would have been applied for to at least lessen the tax burden by razing the facility, but it hasn't.

With potential competition taking shape on both sides of Media, could this hotel still be a viable business model?  Times have changed tremendously since the first proposal for the Hampton Inn was presented back in 2006, so I wonder if the feasibility for the owners has changed too.  That's purely my opinion, but I thought something would have started on this by now.

In a perfect world, the old Media Inn location would have been the ideal site for the Hampton Inn.  I think it'll still do well where it's slated to go, however, it would just be nice to know when construction might take place.  At this point, I'd have to say the smart money would be on Springfield having a hotel before Media does.

Stay tuned.

BREAKING NEWS: RTM School Board Unanimously approves opening of 3rd St. Bridge

Unprecedented support to open 3rd St. Bridge
First it started with an Upper Providence resolution, then followed by Middletown Township, and now the Rose Tree Media School District.  Tonight, the School Board voted unanimously in approval of opening the 3rd St. Bridge to vehicles. This will be vital, needed infrastructure for school buses transporting children to Media Elementary, while alleviating congestion on Kirk Ln. and Orange St.

After 16 years and political agendas costing taxpayers millions of dollars in delays, Media residents and neighboring communities are quickly uniting and voicing their support for opening this bridge.  With Penndot funding in place, along with grant money provided by Senator Pileggi, all that is left are the votes on May 17th from Borough Council to start.

Lack of Leadership taking a toll on Everybody's Home Town

3rd St. Bridge = 16yrs and $ 2million increase
Thursday night at 7pm Media Borough will hold yet another meeting on the third St. Bridge. The purpose is to "receive comments" as highlighted by the announcement on the borough's website.  If you were displeased with the fiasco on March 5th where the 3rd St Bridge town hall meeting turned into a dam breaching infomercial, you'll probably be less impressed with Thursday's event.   What's left to discuss that hasn't been over the last year.......or 16 years?

The three stakeholders met last Monday and out of that meeting came no breakthrough on the agreed upon court order.  The county feels it's a local issue and is not planning on reviewing any options proposed by Media Borough.  After the meeting Media Borough did reach out to the BLCC to see if a deal could be made, but nothing important to report there.  How Media Borough Council languished for so long before initiating any contact whatsoever on trying to work through this problem is a disaster for everyone.

However, know that the BLCC did act in the good faith of the community by hearing the borough out.  It's not likely you'll get this information freely from borough council Thursday night, but that's the "transparency" they would rather not discuss.

Blame isn't leadership - Dem literature 2011
What people really want to know is why Borough Council proceeded to have all these meetings, committees, surveys and reports before trying to first discuss possible changes with the stakeholders.  Why didn't they organize a meeting with the BLCC and county officials months ago, like they did days ago?  A few hours of meetings and the information gathered last week shows a lot better view of what can or can't be done; than survey's, CAC and the months long misleading statements by borough council like "open for interpretation."  Apparently, the county and BLCC weren't telling people it's "open for interpretation."  This has been so badly mismanaged that Borough council should be apologizing to everyone, regardless of what your position is on the bridge.

Media borough council failed to properly set the expectation, define the legal matters and bring to discussion with the stakeholders a cooperative dialogue of possible change to the court order.  Instead, they chose to follow their own political agenda and demonize the people they should have been working with. In the end they wasted everyone's time and money. AGAIN!

Vandalism on State Street

Flower pots smashed outside of Zen
While driving down State St. this morning I noticed two flower pots smashed outside the entrance of Zen Nails and Spa.  By the time I swung back the police were on the scene talking to the manager.  I stopped in later and and spoke to the them and they told me that pots were broken sometime late night/early morning.

From time to time these random acts of vandalism are know to happen when the bars let out.  Seems like this is what happened here.  What makes Media great is people looking out for one another, so it you see these kind of acts, please don't hesitate to call 911.  Media Police do an outstanding job, but can't be everywhere and any help is greatly appreciated when it comes to these things.

It's Sunday Morning - Media Pa in 2 minutes

It's Media Pa in two minutes.  I usually struggle to get this posted by 9am, but had some time to work on this in advance.

So let's start!

Media's Welcome Home the Vets Parade:
Right idea at the right place for definitely the right cause, but the wrong time.  Sadly last week's parade was not well attended.  People felt this should have been done during Media's normally scheduled Memorial Day Parade.

Media's Restaurant scene:
I like Diego's, there's no problem there, but please consider 3 tacos on the platter instead of two.  They're so good I can eat more than two, but four are too much,  Or maybe charge per taco.  I'm quite fond of the shrimp choice.....well done Diego's, well done! I haven't tried the margaritas yet, but mostly because I don't drink often.

I haven't had time to look into why LaPorta is still not open.  Some people don't think it'll be worth the drive to go to this place from Media.  I disagree.  In fact, the people that live close to La Porta I'm sure will appreciate not having to drive to Media.  The Chef is suppose to be top notch, so hopefully they get what ever issue is sorted out soon.

Speaking of Edgmont and that area, did you know Pace One is closed?  Has been for sometime, which is interesting since they we building a whole new bar addition a year ago.

This may not qualify as "restaurant news," but maybe it is.  With recent decisions on the Franklin Mint site, things should start to come out about what the next steps are for this property.  What's interesting is that due to the years of delays, a lot of stores have skipped over Middletown and moved out to Concordville area.  One of which was WholeFoods.  Could that have instead gone to the Franklin Mint site?  There's a good chance it could have if the timing was right.

Media Elementary moving to Nativity:
No news this week, perhaps an update next week.  Check out the Media Elemtary School Families Facebook page.  They do a great job of keeping on top of this.

Media's Electric Car Charging Station:
Charging Station at Springfield Ford
Has anyone charged up or know someone who's used the electric car charging station behind the Media Fire Dept?  I'd like to see how that works.  How much is a fill up of electricity?

Aqua water main work on 6th St.
I never had bad water pressure, but since the water main work done by Aqua on 6th St., the improvement is noticeable.  Their still working on Sixth St and moving towards Monroe.  Not sure where they'll go next, but they'll send you a letter well in advance if they come to your street.  If you suffer from bad water pressure, you may be in luck...eventually.

Super Wawa, Getty and BP:
Slow week on Super Wawa news and probably will be for sometime.  As for the old Getty, it's still for lease.  No updates on that either.  People may not know this, but the BP on the corner of State St. and 252 will be eventually razed and used for the Super Wawa, when and if that eventually comes.

Third St. Bridge Update:
Yeah, well I let you read all the way down before listing this topic.  Interesting news here that I'll post later today or tomorrow.  Based on last week's events, and the need to make some kind of decision this month to protect the financing, things are moving along.  That might be good or bad depending on what you want to happen here, but there's been another wrinkle in the whole handling of this issue that's not good.

There was a stakeholders meeting last week, but nothing changed regarding the court order stipulation.  It still stands, with no plans to modify out of court.  There is another public meeting on May 10th 7pm for "further comment," but haven't we already been through this?
