Here's to the Dog Owners in Media! A great article by Dr. Sam Lemon

I have a dog, but we definitely don't run in the same circles that a lot of other dog owners do here in Media, it's an "dog" thing.  There's no doubt that "Everybody's Home Town" surely extends that charm to creatures of all sorts.  Even the fox and skunks over on 6th St.   However. if you're a dog owner, and walk around the courthouse during the evening, you'll know what I'm talking about.

There's Chili and Mugsy and a whole host of Media dogs who with their owners love to socialize and catch up on what's happening in Media while walking around the courthouse grounds.  They like to joke that they know more about a person's dog, than they do about the actual owner.  Hey, life can be simple sometimes.

So, for all you dog lovers out there, check out a great article about what makes these animals so special by Media resident, Dr. Sam Lemon.

  1. Thanks so much for the recognition, Tedman. A love of dogs and respect for animal rights is something that a lot of us Media folks have in common. -- Sam Lemon

  2. I saw a dog with his owner on the Court House lawn yesterday. The dog did his business and the owner didn't bother to pick it up.

  3. I love dogs and have had them my whole life, but it comes with responsibility. One dog owner of a very recognizable blind Great Dane also lets his dog do his buiness not only on the court house lawn but in the flower bed and DOES NOT pick it up. Does not reflect well on the rest of us.

    1. You're a responsible dog owner. But those who aren't, don't reflect badly on those who are. They reflect badly on themselves. Cleaning up after your pet, is part of the responsibility of owning a dog. There's no excuse not to do that in Media. The Borough has several conveniently located "doggie drops," which offer free plastic bags and a trash can with a lid for depositing the waste. You're right -- some people are just lazy. But not cleaning up after a dog jeopardizes public health, and our local water supply. Irresponsible owners should be reported and fined.
