Runners in Media need to Lighten Up!

I've chosen not to join the many who run throughout Media for exercise during the dark hours.  A misplaced step on uneven terrain or a slip on the newly fallen leaves would be a catastrophic injury for me. I'm the type that can be easily injured from a bad nights sleep, so understand where I'm coming from.
Make sure you stand out when running in Media during evening hours!

For those who courageously run on in the dark, please consider wearing a reflective band or illuminating device of some sort.  I saw a bunch of people running around, and those I could see with reflective material gave me pause while in my vehicle as they approached an intersection. Unfortunately, a lot of people in Media just roll through stop signs, so anything you can do to be seen helps the driver TREMENDOUSLY!

If you need a place to go to get geared up for night running, swing by and see Karen at Bryn Mawr Running on State Street.  They have everything you need.

Keep running and have a great time!

  1. I suggest wearing a little battery powered reflective device called Nite Ize.

    1. Actually, I run over that way very early in the mornings, and there just as many cars running stop signs as everywhere else in the borough. Stop making every post an issue to complain about the dam. If your that upset about it, go to the Council meetings and make your voice heard.

    3. No nerve hit. Just growing tired of your sputtering sentence fragments and nonsensical anger over a singular issue. I will give you credit though for your creativety by working it into every story. So tell us what you really think of Councilman Davidson?

    4. Davidson is a self serving fraud wanting no cars driving by his house. .claiming he is just being fiscally responsible

  5. I run in the very early morning and completely agree! I use a new product (that just got funded through Kickstarter) called NoxGear. I have never seen a product like it and would highly recommend it over just a simple reflective vest. Check it out here (I am not affiliated with the product in any way). https://www.noxgear.com/products1/product/77-tracer360

  6. I run with a very small flashlight for just this reason. While it didn't keep me off the hood of a taxi that ran a stop sign on Monroe, it has helped me be visible and (usually) avoid tripping over cracks in the sidewalk.
