Significant Repair Needed for Olive Street Garage.

During last night's borough council meeting it was announced that the Olive Street Garage will need significant repair.  Bids have not yet been received, but this evening's discussion did revolve around the length of time needed for the repair and a potential start date.   How this project is handled will come down to one of two scenarios:  1) the work could be done all at once taking up to at least a month and requiring all levels be closed, or 2) different levels would be done at different times lessening the traffic impact, but lenthing the time of completion.  At this time, a start date is expected to be in the June/July 2014 timeframe.
Where are Media's Priorities?

A decision will be forthcoming on what scenario will be followed.   However, a spokesperson for the retail businesses of Media suggested a quicker approach would be more desirable, than a longer, staggered approach.

Over the last two years I wrote many articles on the neglect of this structure. In fact, it wasn't until this video below did the Media democratic borough council take the situation seriously.  Why has it taken years for Media borough to begin this?

  1. TM - Are the bid specs already done? If so, it's possible that they've been in the works for a while, behind the scenes.

  2. We should rejoice in celebration it won't take 18 years to fix like their other infrastructure project known as Third Street. Oh, wait, maybe it still will.

    1. to anony at 6:17 am LMAO Both deal directly with business owners - driving/coming into the borough to shop and parking at the borough to shop - just a thought but maybe if a couple BUSINESS owners were on council they would open their dam(n) eyes!! Sorta like M R who (unfortunately) left council and owns a BUSINESS. Check with Deals see how the closure affected their business.... I'm convinced that this council rejoices in lack of progression and further rejoices in paying lawyer(s) who don't practice in Delaware County to create "dream" stall tactics.....

  4. Tedman,
So let me get this straight - the council does nothing and you bitch about it. The council does something and you bitch about it. No matter what they do you bitch about it...

I used to visit this site quite a bit because you pass on a lot of good information, but it just seems like all you do now is complain about the borough council. The current council is 11 days old, give them a chance!

    1. The current council is 11 days old. Maybe the "green" four who just got elected (without any experience) but not the 3 morons who have been there several times before.....the trained problem solver and listener (who does nothing) Mr. Hall-----the wannabe president Paul------------and the do as i say not as i do non-sidewalk shoveler K. Davidson.

And the puppet master Frank Daly hiding behind the scenes to make sure his private cul-de-sac is never gonna be developed.
