Generations Restaurant to re-open as Maggie's Hook

Maggie's Hook to replace Generations Restaurant
What was known as Generations Restaurant is officially closed as described by the sign on the front door today.  It also stated that renovations are underway which are in preparations for a new restaurant called Maggie's Hook.  From what I understand, this will be a seafood grill setup.  As for the pub, that'll remain as is, and I believe will still be open during the changes.

No timeline given on when the new restaurant will open.

  4. I always found the name Generations a turn off. Maggie's Hook reminds me of Marcus Hook. Who comes up with these names?

    3. I had several family events at Generations...bridal shower, funeral lunch, and communion party and was never disappointed. The guests all commented on how great everything was so I will miss Generations.

    2. You are a resturant for goodness sake and your saying keep opions to yourself. You can change the name of the place but the fact is still is same owners so things wont change much but the name

  6. That place stinks and if it still has the same owners it will still stink even with a dumb new name.

  7. Maggies Hook is a terrible name. Definitely thing a seafood place is a good idea though. Media really should be stepping it up on the restaurant front. The new 320 market restaurant hopefully will help.

  8. I hope they open under new management/owners... The place needs a HUGE makeover with new and improved attitudes and better service as well.

  9. Media definitely does need newer and BETTER restaurants and a better variety too or more authentic international cuisine. The only good ones, meaning the food and service are good every single time I go and they are consistently clean inside, are Iron Hill, Azie, Noodi, Shere E Punjab, Fellini/Ariano. The rest are overpriced and average or worse. I won't single out the major let-down dumps because I'm sure they stand out on their own.

  10. The little inn was owned by two brothers who changed the name to generations and now for the second time they are changing the name to Maggie Hook Fish and Grill. Same owners same management going to be the same quality food feel free to look up to the public tax records to confirm this :)

    1. Clarification: the Little Inn as most knew it (friendly, inviting, great bar/bartenders) was owned by Mr. Hionis when it was in it's heyday. Hionis THEN sold it to the brothers Grim who are obnoxious, selective and tried to make this the young folks happy hour spot which failed miserably. This is when it went downhill like a roller coaster. Food sucks, service sucks and you can talk to many locals around this area who are put off by the attitudes at Generations. They are still in debt from the first purchase when it was generations, and yes previous poster is correct in that same owners. Maggie the Hook is a wolf in sheeps clothing - beware!

    2. The owner of the The Little Inn has nothing to do with the owners of Generations and Maggie Hook. Maggie Hook consists of the same owners as Generations. Don't let the name change fool you one bit. My aunt and a friend use to work for them and they claim while being clean in the front, it's totally different in the rear (kitchen, coolers, etc). They worked there, but would never consider eating there. They claim that its beyond filthy from top to bottom (roaches, dust, etc). They even said that they recycle butter thats been partially used by customers. The dish room is unbearable. The equipment is filthy. The owners, Mike in particular is a pervert sneak that holds back money from the servers, is insecure, makes servers wait for hours if not days for their money, yells at you for no reason, etc. Such a little man. The awards they use to win "best brunch", etc, are rigged. They make the servers fill out multiple surveys to get the awards. They claim that when they use to serve parties, they would get their tips, but the owners would keep added money the customers would leave above the fixed tip. They also claim that female bartenders are constantly sexually harassed by Mike. Some even claim that they take narcotics up in the office acquired by Mike (he supposedly works for a pharmaceutical company), invites bartenders, servers to try and sexually harass them. Between the filth, the drugs, the attitudes, the sneakiness, the harassing, from front to rear (their mother works in the front and she's the same), I would never go and eat there, ever.

    3. I don't think Generations was owned by the brothers, Little Inn was sold to
      the new owners.

    4. The Little Inn was bought out by the brothers. As soon as they purchased it, they remodeled it and renamed it Generations. Now its a new remodel with another name change, Maggie's Hook. Same owners. Mike is the head owner and the culprit. I don't know the second owners name, Mike's brother. They're trying to Febreze the eternal stench.

  11. Looking forward to seeing what Marcus Hook has to offer

  12. The owners should take notes from all these postings before opening their Fish Grill. Their blond obnoxious manager did nothing but hang at the bar and give freebees to her friends, their servers had/have no idea how to serve patrons and/or clear the table (guess they are too busy partying in the back room). Get it together men and manage this place like true businessmen!

  13. Changing the name will do nothing to improve the quality and selections of the restaurant. Maggie's Hook and Grill sounds like more of a fast food restaurant than a improved better restaurant. The Little Inn was the best, Generations was worse and more than likely the new name drive it to the ground. What people are they trying to attract - Chester or Markus Hook?

  14. I've had several family events at The Little Inn as well as Generation (Mostly Generations). The food for our parties was always a hit. I never got any complains from my guest's and they always were willing to negotiate on a fair price. I always love Sunday brunches, huge selection of food. I also really enjoyed their pub style menu. Great pizza, and even better cheese burgers. They were always massive! And they offered delivery on their entire menu. That was always a life saver on rainy or snowy days! It will be missed by my entire family! I can only hope Maggie’s Hook will be as good.

  15. We were curious being new to the neighborhood. So we had dinner at Maggie Hooks Fish & Grille. Maggie Hook's was very nice inside. I like the way they decorated the dinning area. Our server her name was Maria she was very friendly and smiled. I like that. Our food was very good. I had the broiled seafood platter my husband he had the 14 oz cowboy steak and our son had chicken fingers with french fries and a scoop of ice cream for dessert. Everything was very good .Thank you for a good meal we will be back.

  16. Maggie hook's is nothing like generations. Same owners, but they've handed it over to a completely new management regime. Very friendly atmosphere inside, great food, and better service! I'll definitely be visiting again soon.

  17. Evidently Maggie Hook's is open for business so do you not think that a menu would be posted online to entice customers?! Already have a bad taste in my mouth, even before eating their food. These owners are clueless, I'm done.

  18. WOW - nice to see all the interest in the new operation. But it is sad to see what commotion is stirred by one "ANONYMOUS" poster who is obviously a former employee whose name shall be spared out of common decency. Quite bitter, and sad. However the only way to form a valid opinion about the new operations is to excperience what is offered, for yourself. Don't you think?

    1. You're not kidding!!!! We tried going there last night. The health department shut them down due to disgusting sanitary conditions. I'm never going there again. I heard really bad rumors, roaches, filth, rat droppings, etc in the past but didn't believe them until now. Never again!!!!

    2. that is a totally lie ppl get a life

  20. Well there you go, the Health Department stepped in and closed it down, maybe they're made up of former bitter, sad employees who had an axe to grind so I guess you won't be able to eat there any time soon to form a valid opinion. Sad but true.

  26. ok since everyone has something to say and apparently you say anything you want on this blog this is what I have to say.....most of these reviews are from old employees as we can all tell cause they are not relevant to the food or restaurant at all an you can tell this cause no one goes into details of any place they have eat at in the deps that these reviews are. mike and his family give lots of ppl in this town a chance to make money mostly single parents who really need the money a few employees that cant make it in this industry get fired and are bitter and hating on this restaurant. its no ones fault if u cant do this job that is your problem go work in another field. as far as the cleanliness goes the restaurant it would not be open if it was not clean HELLO and they are open stupid ppl. next time you want to write something on a blog remember that there are ppl that actually care about REAL REVIEWS NOT YOUR opinion which is just mindless chatter while you do more drugs get a life get a job and MOVE ON ....have a nice day

    1. Not an ex-employee, no affiliation with the place. Maybe Mike (you must be his bestie since you know him by name) and his family should be there working themselves to make sure service is provided as well as great food served. Real reviews, since you don't know, ARE the writers opinion. I think so many people are writing about this place is because it USED to be a great place as the Little Inn and it's just been driven into the ground since then. It's a prime location and it's being wasted on this trash.

  27. we went there saturday night and the food was terrible. I felt bad for the server for having to be the bridge of communication between us and the owner of the place who didn't understand the proper way of handling things when it comes to customers. the fish was of rubber, the salad was old, the tomatoes rotten. this was the second time between generations and maggie hook, and our last time. do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. there really is a ton of other great restaurants in delaware county.

  28. We went there on Aug. 20th. The food was horrible. Our food took forever to get to us. If I knew we were going to wait that long for food quality that poor - the fish smelled like it was going bad - the scallops tasted bad - the pasta was mushy - the lettuce at the salad bar was brown - glassware, silverware was filthy -, we wouldn't of waited or entered that building. I'm not going back. Go to Campbell's Boathouse instead, if you're in the mood for seafood and great drinks.

  30. I read all of the mean evil lies. I think that if someone wants to give their opinion that is one thing. But all that I read is someone trying to hurt one business and try to build up another business where you might work at now. I think that you might need more work hours to keep you buzzy. .

  31. We dined here last night and for the last time. Salad bar food was spoiled good took forever. My Gish was worse than rubber and smelled spoiled. My wife ate nothing she tried but after seeing into the kitchen she lost her appetite. How is this place open. Only good thing was server he was good but his tattoos were more than my wife would like to see

  32. I don't know, it seems like this is one of those locations where no one can seem to make a go of it...you know how some locations just change again, and again, and again? I wasn't there when it was The Little Inn, but was there for a couple of functions at Generations and thought it was terrible, from the food to the non-existent atmosphere and depressing décor. So if it's the same management and crew, I wouldn't go back, no matter how they rebranded. And hearing things about cleanliness and shady management don't make me want to go. But what do I know -- the Towne House in Media continues to survive somehow, and I'd rather eat in the stockroom of a supermarket then ever go there again, so some people might like this place. I learned about Maggie Hook's from an ad in The Clipper -- which had no coupons. Isn't The Clipper a coupon magazine by definition?!?? That seemed a little odd. Or chintzy of them. Or both.
