Houtman Park gets welcomed make-over

If you've been following the project at Houtman Park, you'll know it's shaping up to be a very nice setting with the recent construction work.  I had a chance to get down there over the weekend to see that this isn't just a clean-up, but a full-fledge makeover of the entire park.

Check out the pictures of what appears to be an overlook, bridge, a new sidewalk and ample amounts of well used space that is tastefully landscaped.  I like it, and hope it gets used.

  1. Please! Take the English ivy out of those trees it has climbed into or the park will lose them. That ivy is debilitating to trees as it climbs up! The work looks great in the park!

  2. Is it just me or does anyone wonder what politicians live near this park? Why wasn't this much effort put into fixing the 3r Street Bridge issue??

  3. The 'effort' for 3rd Street was squandered with arguing, red tape and lawsuits. I don't believe ANY politicians leave nearby - maybe thats why its getting done.
