Traffic Studies done on West End Flat/Walk

Here's the most recent traffic studies I have of the upcoming West End Flat and Walk projects.  I'm not sure if there have been updates, but these provide a quite comprehensive report.

  1. Based on the picture, it appears that house next to Sterling Pig will still be around? That will look a little odd surrounded by these new homes.

    1. Love that old house. Shame they have to develop every inch, and come so close to it.

    2. The image above doesn't show the homes as they're going to be built; I think it just shows layout. The image posted here a few weeks ago showed townhouses that all looked different, with front porches and dormers, etc. I think they'll look good next to the historic building already there.

  2. Great info - Thanks! It looks like it can work. Brooke Street which is basically unused will absorb alot of the traffic for the 'Flats'. Peak hours at Orange St should be interesting. Lemon St should probably become one-way towards town to prevent short-cutting.

  3. It would be nice to see an arch or some type of structure, creating a gateway feeling. Coordinating with the new traffic lights might be an issue though.

  4. Builders love to be up against parks. Glen Providence & Mineral Hill, but then they don't support said parks. Their houses and impacts also damage the ecosystem. We love things so much we kill them, sorta like Media PA

  5. Keeping parallel parking on the north side of Baltimore Pike seems precarious. But what's the alternative? Hopefully they will do more studies!

  6. Where is the Greenaway? Remember when everything needed a Greenaway? How about a nice Greenaway or maybe a covered bridge by the gateway. Don't forget the Greenaway......
