Meeting John, I noticed how passionately he is towards this frozen concoction and the enthusiasm he has for sharing his experience with others. The ice cream he offers is made specifically by him with the help of some very expensive machinery from Italy. That's an important part of the story because this product isn't about margin and cost analysis; it's about the best ingredients. Period!
That intrigued me as this ice cream has a density and flavor that's really unique. I mentioned that to John and he smiled and agreed. He said, "...we don't use air in our ice cream, which so many other manufacturers do to improve margins." He's right! Air provides a better cost margin, but not a better ice cream. Heck, a taste is worth 10,000 words, so let his product do the talking and check it out.
This is not only about great ice cream, but a great story of a small business owner excited over what a town like Media provides and the opportunity he envisions. That's a win-win for everyone and something we should all be grateful for.
