Plans released for new retail space with drive-thru at the location of 501 E Baltimore Ave and Providence Rd.

They haven't even put the final touches on the new Super Wawa that was opened this week, when plans were announced last week that a new retail structure will be built at the corner of 501 E. Baltimore Ave. and Providence Road.   That's the site of the old Lukoil gas station that was recently razed.

Aside from a few waivers needed, the construction should start this year.  Essentially, that should allow for things to move quickly, unlike the 6 years Media Borough took with Wawa.

It will allow for two retail stores with one specifically designed to have a drive-thru window.  That would be an awesome and logical fit for a Starbucks that is now engulfed by the new Wawa and has always lacked sufficient parking.  It's speculated that that will happen, but no formal announcement by Starbucks or any other retailers have been made.

Architect, Bob Linn has drafted sketches of what the structure will look like and recently presented them to Media Borough.
