GENUARDI’S SPONSORS MEDIA THEATRE’S STATE STREET MIRACLES


The Genuardi’s Employees Foundation awarded a grant of $2500 to The Media Theatre’s State Street Miracles, which will be utilized to assist with costs related to program tuition, materials and professional services.
 
The State Street Miracles, comprised currently of 12 individuals, is a performance troupe of adults with developmental disabilities. The group sings Broadway and popular songs. They have performed at Delaware County’s Summer Festival held in Rose Tree Park, The Media Rotary Club, Special Olympics, The Buddy Walk, and for Delaware County Council. In March of 2008 the group traveled to Harrisburg where they were honored on the Senate Floor of the Pennsylvania State Capitol during “Developmental Disabilities Month”.
 
Genuardi’s Employees Foundation is a charitable organization funded entirely through employees’ voluntary payroll contributions. It serves to support local non-profit organizations in four key areas: hunger relief, education, special needs and health and human services. Since 2004, the Foundation has awarded $156,000 to more than 50 non-profit groups throughout its marketing areas.
