Media and County Council Make Delco Greener!

County Council is not only an advocate of open space, but is making an impact on the recycling front too.   Initiated this month, the county now allows for "Single Stream" collection through igloo, domed shaped receptacles placed in 41 locations throughout the county.

Per Media Town Talk County initiates single stream recycling:
County Council Vice President Christine Fizzano Cannon made the announcement and deferred to county Recycling Manager Susan Cordes to report on the details. The environmental and financial benefits of recycling are already embraced by county residents, but eliminating the need for separate containers and sorting is apt to have a positive impact, county officials agreed.
Media Boro is also leading the way in recycling having received four  Big Belly Solar trash compactors provided by the work of Council President, Pete Alyanakian and State Rep. (168th) Tom Killion.
