Owner of La Belle Epoque and Picasso restaurants to open third in Media
Details are still forth coming, but Loic Barnieu, owner of Picasso and La Belle Epoque has announced he's signed another lease for a third restaurant in Media.
Why would you say, "Just what Media needs..." as if it's a bad thing? The bars & restaurants are what make Media a vibrant place to live. Go live in Wallingford if you don't like it. I don't understand your way of thinking. Would you prefer another bank?
I am hoping that he makes the restaurant just a little bit more family friendly....the food at the other two restaurants is really good, however very little of it is kid friendly...
Fine dining isn't supposed to be kid friendly! I don't complain because I can't order a scotch a chucky cheese. I just don't go there if I want to dine on fine cuisine and be around adults. The world doesn't revolve around you and your kids!!!!! I like children, but kids will be kids, and I dont want a "kid being a kid" next to me as I have a 30 dollar entree and enjoy expensive wine.
With the loss of Coffee Club, we have lost a very kid-friendly and casual eating spot in Media. Those of us with children do appreciate fine dining (and kid-free places) as much as you do, Anonymous of 9/15, 12:06 pm. But Media has plenty of that. We need more places like the Coffee Club and Front Street Fountain. Otherwise, I'm afraid I will be more likely to show up at your favorite restaurant with my kids in tow because there's nothing else appropriate nearby.
I agree with the above. I too will arrive with kids in tow... the reality is that society as a whole is much more casual...the dining scene downtown phila is even becoming more kid friendly- If I don't want to see kids, I will eat later (after 7:30)...or go to le bec fin....media is filled with families- it's a wasted opportunity for restaurants NOT to cater to the early crowd....
It's the Coffee Club location... right?
