OR...neighbors getting together, hanging out, and having some fun. In the process maybe people will meet new friends, share some talents, exchange items based on what people need. Maybe money is tight and they can't go out and buy brand new tools, kitchen gear, etc.
I actually think it is a great idea. I have plenty of things that I am sure still have use in them and would be happy if a neighbor would get it from me rather than having to go buy new.
