Super Storm Sandy won't be forgotten anytime soon, if ever. Whether is was the rain, wind, flooding or loss of electricity, everyone in some way felt her blow. The preperation for the storm was immense and so were the long hours people had to endure in order to get through it.
Power outages were sporadic and it looks like many in the borough are still without electricity. It's hard to gauge how long these things will take to be repaired, but I did see PECO trucks working on the lines. Luckily, I haven't heard of anyone's house being severely damaged by falling trees, which I thought would have surely happened.
Traffic is light this morning with roads still littered with debris. Septa is expected to come back online sometime today, but as of now, no update. It's also great to report that even though Media was to use Springton Lake Middle School as an emergency shelter; no one, as far as I know, had to make use of it. I stopped by at the facility this am, but nothing to report there. Thanks to Delaware County for communicating this information. It's assuring to know these facilities are available, even if residents didn't have to use them.

Now this is the news and Blog that I like to read. There was nothing negative about people or council in Media. Very informative. Thanks for the update about the shelter was curious if people used it last night. Great pictures.
ReplyDeleteDitto on the great pictures!!! I do believe major water is spilling from Broomall's Lake and over the dam(n)! Hopefully it has cleared out the green film of duckweed on the pond.
