Even Media Borough Council questions their own leadership!

A letter in today's Delcotimes by a Media Borough Counicwoman questioning the antics and motives by her colleagues over the Third Street bridge just goes to show how dysfunctional and poorly managed this group is.  Atleast Monika Rehoric and Dawn Roe bring light to this situation and present it to the public.  Poor leadership is a bad reflection on Media and has already begun to take a toll on this town.  As embarrassing as this has gotten, it's only getting worse and not just for the bridge.

Because they've already threatened BLCC, Borough Council's latest move is to talk to the county to see if something could be negotiated.  14 months and their now talking to the county?  Trouble is not even Media Borough Council knows how to handle this issue illustrated by a total lack of direction.  Their hands are tied to special interest that don't want any bridge. One person close to the matter told me two weeks ago, "This group couldn't decided on what day it is."  This is now the perception people have of Media.  And this community honestly thinks they can get a library built?

Here's a quote from Council President Brian Hall back from 2012

delcotimes.com Oct 2012
Being against something and hoping it goes away is NOT leadership, but yet the ongoing strategy of Media Borough Council. If fact, what's been displayed is a text book example of poor leadership.
  • WAWA - where's the direction by borough council?
  • Media Hotel - what's the situation and who's discussing it with the community?
  • Empty Lots - for years they've sat empty with no cooperation from borough council.
  • Nativity BVM - Failed to even mention a school in the community for 100 years
  • Third Street Bridge - This slides backwards by the year.  18 years and still no results
  • Business Community - The council liaison failed to show up 13 out of 24 months!
  • Traffic Lights - 15 years to install traffic lights?!?!

  2. You have the Twit, The Dimwit, The Misfit and "I can't Commit" Team doing a bang-up job on Media borough council. Everybody, Clap your hands! Okay, again!

Let's now all speak in 3 syllable words to over compensate for how ineffective we are on borough council. Yes, that should fool everybody.

This town's just one knee-slapping joke after another.

    1. This is a riot - Anon. 12:02 you've been attending too many borough council meetings lately - you've obviously cracked the language barrier code!

  3. For the Borough Council President to publicly admit that keeping Third Street bridge a public eyesore and blocking the only direct route between Media and Upper Providence for another 20 years "would not be so bad" is a pretty sad testament to the quality of leadership in this town. How can anyone consider that to be a proud accomplishment?

    1. In 100% agreement with Anon 12:09. Mr. Hall's response is a classic case of personal agenda and opinion ("those of US") taking precedent over a solution in the best interest of our community, our businesses, and the safety of our children on a daily basis. This is SHAMEFUL! Why is this continuously tolerated?

  4. As a former Nativity school parent and former Nativity parishioner, we experienced the lack of support from the Boro council. A viable school in the Boro for 100 years was ignored by council when it was on the verge of closing. No support nor assistance was even offered...no one from council even attended the meetings and/or rallys to save the school. We didn't need financial support, we needed political support and we were ignored. Time for a change if you ask me.

    1. So borough Council was supposed to put some political muscle on the diocese...?

  5. In fairness, Brian Hall attended at least two rallys that were held by Nativity. I saw him there. He did not address the crowd, nor did he speak publicly. It's my understanding Mayor Bob McMahon had high level discussions, but also never publicly spoke about it during council meetings. Why neither made public statements of support for Nativity or mention a community petition to save the school during council meetings, I have no idea.

State Rep. Tom Killion did attend at least one rally at the request of the community.

    2. Granted, recognition of the end of this institution would have been nice. But you criticize, then fail to say what you would have done differently to result in a different outcome? Seems like negative campaigning. You gotta do better than that.

    3. I saw Tedman at the meetings and he was one of the only people to take a position and write about the matter. That's more than borough council did.

    4. But what would he have done differently as a borough councilman? Nothing could have changed the outcome. Sad but true.

    5. Kudos on fairness to Hall's presence at the rallies, and McMahon's making high level contacts. Seems to me to be a private property matter; what, specifically, could borough council have done??

  6. Tedman - Why aren't you, Jim Cunningham and Monica Rehoric identifying yourselves as candidates in your "opionion" pieces?
