I had no idea the author of this blog was running for Mayor. Is there a reason why it was never explicitly stated here? There is no doubt in my mind that you care about this community but the individuals behind the Republican curtain frighten most voters in the Borough. Good luck next time.
They scare me because they organized a coup to oust one of the most thoughtful and intelligent Borough Council Presidents Media has ever had. They (and this blogs Author)claim the Republican/DINOs/Media First candidates can "get things done". A bull can "get things done" in a China shop but I wouldn't invite him in.
I was too young to notice these things 30 years ago but from all accounts I have heard, the Borough is better off now than it was then.
I feel kind of ashamed of those same folks. The lied about being dems, and they lied about and/or mischaracterized the issues they raised. What's to be proud of there??
My vote went to the endorsed Media Democrats, but I don’t think the Media First team should be ashamed at all. They might have been better served running as an independent ticket given their message, but they were quite clear in pro-two way road on 3rd street dam, pro-Wawa, and pro-hotel views. Those views were repudiated by the Democratic primary voters yesterday. I think nothing ill of their attempt to run, but hopefully November’s general election will finally articulate how the majority of Media Borough residents are in favor of the current council’s work on the major issues facing our borough.
Goodbye, Media. I'm moving to Delaware. Good roads, bridges and low taxes. The best kept secret for seniors, who get a deal on everything. And you are close to the shore points. Should have moved years ago.
I'm sorry that you feel that way. Homes in Media borough have been selling quite rapidly over the last few years, so I'm sure you'll get a great price and be able to move on quickly. There are no lack of people who'd love to live in our borough.
Congrats!!! The people have spoken, and the TRUE Democrats prevailed. Guess Media First's trick backfired on them.
ReplyDeleteThe people have spoken, and now they must be punished. And, believe me, they will be.

ReplyDeleteHow can they scare you if the democratic machine of malignancy has been keeping the town back for over 30 years?

Results for the "Media First" borough council race are here: http://election.co.delaware.pa.us/eb/May_2013/26M.html
ReplyDeleteThere is worse things than losing an election. And it has to hurt. Media First Team gave us a choice. And the most spirited primary in the county.
ReplyDeleteI'm proud and honored to know these public spirited and gifted candidates, Sam Lemon, Bill Tyson, Jim Cunningham and Monika Rehoric.

I second that!
Deletetedman, I am a registered independent voter and you will have my vote.
ReplyDeleteMickey wants his money back!
ReplyDeleteDo you mean the $5k he spent on printing and postage, or the $3.2 mil he lost on the dam deal?
DeleteA judge will take the decision for the bridge from Media Borough. The public good will trump the Democrats.
ReplyDeleteRose Tree School District wants the 2-Way bridge. What RTSD wants they get. I have the real estate tax bills to prove it.
DeleteActually, the Schhol District doesn't care about 2-way, but they do care about emergency access. The 2-way thing is a Swim Club political gambit.

DeleteCorrect, MediaMike. That's why it needs to be a one-way bridge. Republicans move out, but they don't move back in!
