If you like dining under the stars here in Media, you may even like it more with a movie. This Thursday night, Ariano's restaurant will be featuring Cinema Peroni outside on Olive Street. The street will be blocked off with a movie screen setup. With a natural slope, this could be Media's newest ampitheatre dining experience.
The featured show for the evening is Oceans 11.
I like the idea. I guess the other restaurants on the block are also in agreement. Dining under the stars is growing and evolving quickly. At least some things move fast around here.
ReplyDeleteThere are other businesses on the street ... do the restaurants rule the borough now !!
ReplyDeleteWhat other businesses are open at that hour on that block? What is the problem?
ReplyDeleteI again there are other businesses on the street. One night is good enough for the restaurants to shut down other businesses in Media.
DeleteThe other businesses aren't shut down, they get extra foot traffic from DUTS. DUTS doesn't change the ability to walk to any store as is.
DeleteNot Cool ....
DeleteWhen they start moving chairs and tables at 6:00 at night and take the parking for Rose's Newsstand which closes at 7:00 is does hurt another business on the street .. Rose's has been there for over 40 years ...
ReplyDeleteSo Roses gets some extra walk up customers, what's the issue?
DeleteWhy Media Theatre hasn't capitalized on an idea like this ill never know.
ReplyDeleteThe Troc is doing it right, anyone see "The Awesome Fest" series they're hosting?
DeleteMany of Rose's customers are on foot (I've never noticed their customers hopping out of a car on Olive anyway) and whenever I've taken a car to get there, I've always had to park on Baker Street because there is barely any parking on that block of Olive as it is. I hardly see one hour without being able to maybe park your car right on Rose's doorstep as all that critical to business.
