Lack of Accountability by Media Borough Council

Believe it or not, I have about a million other things I could and should be doing other than videoing Media Borough Council meetings.  So why am I doing this today?  It's easy, the total lack of accountability by Media Borough Council is something all residents and businesses should be concerned about.  When you have an exclusive majority held by one party, don't expect anyone to step up and take a stand over being responsible because it's easier for them to pretend nothing is wrong.

Coucilman, Eric Stein missing 8 consecutive meetings as the laison to the Media Business Authority was one thing.  Councilman Kent Davidson's shenanigans regarding what many claim to be a conflict of interest regarding Third Street Bridge (he lives 40' from the bridge) is another, not to mention the undisclosed website he was found to be providing to Friends of Glen Providence Park.  Then you have the inappropriate behavior of Paul Robinson insulting groups like Middletown Township, RTM School Board and Upper Providence for their interest and concerns over the Third Street Bridge.  During all of this, not one person on borough council even batted an eye, let alone stood up an spoke out.

Last night the hits just kept coming with Council President Brian Hall blaming a calendar of all things for not being able to rule on a zoning change submitted by an applicant.   Perhaps borough council wasn't prepared, perhaps the applicant submitted incorrectly; but to skirt the responsibility and blame a calendar is pathetic.   Not in my professional career have I ever heard someone use such an excuse. This community and the applicant shouldn't stand for that either.

It's becoming clear why it took Wawa 14 times to present their plans to the borough in the last two year, or why we're going on 19 years without any clear direction on the Third Street Bridge.  No one on council knows what's going on! $20,000 for poorly made video sold to the borough by a telemarketer?  Sure, why not.  The company that produced it was fined for fraud!  And if you saw the video they did for Media, you wouldn't have any trouble believing that.

  1. I hear council has invited Janie Blackwell to the January meeting to give a speech on why "pay to play" should be accepted in Democratic controlled cesspools.

  4. Uh the calendar made the mistake, Hey WAWA is it Leap Year, or no wait how about Groundhog's Day. Yeah that's it its Groundhog's Day in Media every day WAWA wakes up council says the same thing. Just like 3rd St. Media "was not found in contempt Mr. Hall says as his silly little cheerleader Mr. Robinson goes---" finally some one speaks reality" here is some reality for Council two ways are coming you are running out of time and beginning to look worse every time the calendar changes pages.

  5. What an embarrassment. Media residents should be angry but past history with the lemmings reflects they are neither angry nor embarrassed by their elected officials and will go right out and elect more of the same in 2 years. As for Mr. Robinson, (I am not sure why I give him the credit of "Mr" as some might see it as a term of respect)...he was unprepared, rude and lacking in common sense when he was last on council. I thought the Media Dems might have seen the light (or a small portion of light) when they refused to back him for reelection a few years ago but here he is again, with their backing, and nothing has changed in terms of his lack of meaningful contibution or his demeanor. Shameful and pitiful all the way around.

    1. Embarrassed? Angry? Wait till the residents here about the PAY TO PLAY or in this case PAY to get your site approval. I wonder if Council members can spell EXTORTION?
      Because that's what it is.
