Still yet to be finalized, but Media Borough Council and the Media Planning commission are looking to allow the introduction of a new diner at the former Blue Berry Bog location on Orange Street.  Stay tuned....

  1. Seems odd to add another diner to the list of Koffee Korner, The Court Diner, Fast and Fancy and Ms. Marty's, but I'm always open to new things coming through. I think it'd do better as a gourmet cupcake / bakery shop or even a nice Pho / Vietnamese place. That's just my two cents.

    1. I am hoping they will be open late... Mrs. Marty's closes at 3pm, and the Koffee Korner also closes earlier. :-)

  2. Naive question: why do they need to come before council for a diner in an existing building? Is there some special approval required?

    1. That's a good question. The answer: because this is listed as a merchant commercial property and was being sought after to be used as a restaurant, the parking situation needed to be considered for such change.

    2. It's approved for retail not food, so that is why it needs to go through the process. :-)

    3. Thank you for that. Is the "process" a conditional use, variance, special exception...? Just trying to learn.

  3. Any word on what is happening at the hot dog place?

  4. That would need quite a bit up fit up....hoods, grease trap, ventilation, etc. Big $$$$. Wonder how that noise and smell will go over with the businesses on either side? Interesting.

    1. It doesn't make sense. But that hasn't stopped anyone from opening and closing an establishment yet!
