Per recent Media Borough Council resolution led by Public Safety Chair, Paul Robinson, parking fines to be increased noticeably.
Effective Monday 4/6/15, parking fines in Media will increased to the following:
- Paid within 24hrs - $15, was $5
- Paid within 24hrs - 72hrs - $20
- Paid after 72hrs - $25
- Illegal Parking Fines - $35
- Parking in a handicap space - $50
- Meter fees will remain unchanged.
How else they going to pay for the $1,000,000 gifts they gave out and the unsecured loan for $1,500,000. Taxes next?!?
ReplyDeletegreat...another way to gouge residents... way to go, Media
ReplyDelete$25 for an expired meter and only $50 for illegally parking in a handicap space? Media needs to lower the expired meter fees and raise the handicap parking fee.
ReplyDeleteSo this is how they are funding the library renovations. Classic liberal governing.
ReplyDeleteSheesh...from $5 to $15?????
ReplyDeletethe people that have passed the new law are also the same people that don't have to pay for parking. way to look out for the common person!
ReplyDeleteI don't want to pay for no library renovations. I DON'T EVEN READ!
ReplyDeleteHow does Media figure this increase, when most of the meters on state street are broken? Or is that part of the plan? Hmm...........
ReplyDeleteThe reactions to this are nuts - there are so many options to alleviate your inability to pay the insanely low cost of parking in Media:
ReplyDelete1. Park outside of the metered areas and WALK.
2. Pay your meter (why is this so difficult?).
3. Park at Acme and take the trolley in.
Seriously, these reactions... they sounds so absurd!
Park at Acme and take the trolley in.... speaking of absurd reactions!!
DeleteI like the idea of a "Media" lottery to pay for the pet projects. Or maybe a cigarette/liquor tax.
ReplyDeleteHey anon 11:54a, which Media borough council member are you?
ReplyDeleteGreat way to attract more people to shop in Media! This might raise some revenue but I bet that the loss in business tax will more than offset the monies from the meter increase ...brilliant, as usual. Media residents open your eyes and stop being lemmings, it is time to make a serious change and elect people who truly care about the town and who have the brains and courage to do what is right, without regard to politics. PS...I am a Democrat but feel like my local Dems have deserted me.
ReplyDeletenothing in Media anyway stay away .
