Wanted: Consultant who can put up signs in Media for $40,000
Having trouble finding your way around Media? Need a job? Media Borough Council is looking to spend $40,000 on a consultant who can put up signs! (No, Taxpayers we're not kidding!)
Only one way out Caution dead end. (For development) No entry (for Republicans on council) Slow ( for rebuilding Third St.) No parking (Global warming deniers) Curb your dog (or Councilman Robinson)
I don't fault council entirely. They have a grant for this project. I mean, somebody else decided to give them $40,000 to put up way finding signs in am area of less that one square mile. Seriously.
Will these signs help me find my way from 2nd St to 3rd St, or from 7th St to 6th St? I know it would be helpful as many people ij town can't count. They end up doing crazy things like failing math exams and giving out bloated, wasteful way finding contracts.
For half that amount, I'll make a dozen signs on fair-traded cardboard complete with sophisticated arrows pointing to "State Street".
Grant money is still money the reason there is such a national deficit is because of stupid spending. Grant money comes from somewhere and should be put to better use. with cell phone gps and Google maps "way finding" is a pathetic waste of money no matter where the money comes from.
Guarantee a friend or relative of a council person gets this job
2nd sign should say
ReplyDeleteMedia the only town with one way streets and left turn only lanes. And dead end (wawa) projects.

Kudos to Media for at least having a gay man for president. At least they are sensitive to diversity and equality. readyforhillary.com
ReplyDeleteI wonder if anyone other than one of the council's friends gets that job. "rolleyes"
ReplyDeleteMedia borough is a square mile - shouldn't this "job" go to a volunteer?

Why don't all you haters on ATM run for Borough Council, I'm sure that would resolve all the problems at least for you!
DeleteOnly if the haters are registered as Democrats and get the Media Dems blessing. That's the only way to get on council.
DeleteJust ask Paul Robinson
Anon @ 6:52pm - I don't have enough conflicts of interest to do so. If only I joined that "reputable" FROGS group, I'd be a shoo-in, right?
DeleteIt's grant money!
