Media in Two Minutes

Media in Two Minutes - Thanksgiving Edition

This is a big week for Media Pa, with Thanksgiving just days away.  There's a lot to discuss about the upcoming Santa Parade and Fun Run/Walk on Sunday Nov. 29th, but we'll get to that throughout the week.  Based on discussions I had on Friday, it's going to be much, much bigger than last year.  The committee is working on a Fun FAQ list and important highlights to navigate the whole day.  Even thought the temp is expected to be in 50s, I'm told to expect 100% chance of snow.

Another big night this week includes the great "Night before Thanksgiving." I don't know if this is still the "biggest" night, but it has, and I believe continues to be, in the top three.  With the Plumstead Inn being the centerpiece of the evening and plans to close in the coming months, I'd expect to see this place packed to the rafters this Wednesday.

What do Cigars and Tacos have in common?
Outside of Media, I'm not sure I know the answer to that question, but I do know a cigar shop is planned for State Street.  From what I understand they'd like to open as a bar, but may not have a liquor license to do that just yet.

As for Tacos, there are two Mexican eateries rumored for State Street and there almost exactly across the street from one another.  There's one planned for the vacant Primo Planet Hoagie location, and another for the space recently vacated by 320 Market.

Kudos to Nether Providence Police Department
I've been writing this blog for six years and can tell you without a doubt which posts garner the most interest and what topics are important to people.  Crime and safety are at the top and that was again illustrated by the update Nether Providence PD gave on a arrest for suspicious activity.  Just how many people were interested in that story?  Exactly 5,373.

Thanks to the Nether Providence PD for keeping the community informed.

  1. I think you meant the vacant PLANET Hogie. Primo's is still open on Balt Pike.

  2. Tedman - don't be so quick to assume you were wrong. Planet hoagie was the original Primo Hoagie in Media at that location before Sal changed the name --+ so as far as locations go you were spot on
