Between Iron Hill, Sterling Pig, 320, and Pinocchio's; Brick-n-Brew on the way, and rumors of Victory coming; It sure seems like there is more than enough craft beer in town that we could have some decent libations at the food festival. The trick is to add enough to make the affair more fun for all, without attracting the drunk and disorderly crowd. That would be my worry about having taps and plastic cups on the street. Iron Hill's annual Craft beer festival does a pretty good job, although it seems like it's just the same faces over-and-over.
Not sure what a pop up beer garden would do at one of the street festivals. You still wouldn't be able to walk down the street with an open container. The LCB costs would be prohibitive for one day, as most beer gardens in the city have 30 day permits I think. More sidewalk cafe seating in nice weather like West Chester would be more optimum. Lately the food fest and super sunday looks like a bud crowd anyway

DeleteIn Philly, they section off areas that are temporarily allowed for open container... not sure why they couldn't do that here
DeleteA possible location would be Plum Street near deals. Section off an area and add tables. Logistics would be difficult.
