Media Borough in Need of Firefighters. Some calls going understaffed. A paid fire department could be a possibility
Consolidation of fire departments might be a first step, but Media may need to entertain a paid fire department. At the last Media borough council meeting, it was explained that some fire calls are not fully staffed.
New Wawa, West End Flats, townhouses next to Sterling Pig, and townhouses next to the BVM school building should all provide a nice spike in tax revenue to the borough. Paying firefighters should be a good use of that revenue spike.
A gardener is more important actions speak louder then worlds while Robinson says he felt bad about the flawed process of hiring a gardener frankly it shouldn't have been brought up because if issues like this
New blood won't cut it. Firefighting requires a commitment that is out of reach in today's society, regardless of your party affiliation. A paid fire department is inevitable and will cost as much as the police department. Protecting life and property is the real reason local government exists.... not gardening.
This sounds like a dedicated firefighter (JJ) but please get back to Residents when they have a concern about life and property instead of towing the line and ignore people that seems to be a borough strategy for code issues
Not a fan of the FROGS and I think "fair trade" is just something to make people feel good but I have to say that "those types" are actually good for the town. They volunteer when needed for things that are close to their own hearts. They are annoying and elitist for sure but hard working and concerned citizens as well.

ReplyDeleteWhy aren't all the crazy liberals in town not volunteering? Is it not a smug enough assignment?

You'll never see a 'fair trader' or a FROG volunteering in this sort of capacity. This is why volunteer levels are so low, its below them.
