The King Of Wings - The (newer) Old State Tavern

The Old State Tavern in Upper Providence
After the Media Brick and Brew post, It didn't take me long to remember why I don't normally do restaurant reviews.  Shortly after I did that one, and knowing full well what would happen, it happened. I was asked by other establishments, "Why didn't you do a review for us?!?!?!"  Truthfully, I wish I had the time to do restaurant reviews but time is hard to come by these days.

Okay, so being the slow learner that I am, here's a review on what I'll call the King of Wings of the Media area.  Why "King of Wings"? Well these are the best all around wings, in the best all around sports setting.  This is important because the NFL Season is nearly upon us and let's face it, Media really doesn't have a sports bar since the Plumstead closed. (let the comments fly)

YES! There are bars with TV's that show sports in an around state street, but that's not the same.  The King of Wings goes to.......The Old(newer) State Tavern.

The setup at the Old State Tavern consists of a nice selection of cold beer with a compelling menu of wing choices.  Hot, mild, bee-sting, jerk and a host of other flavors that fit perfectly among the nice, large TV's and attentive service.  In fact, the person I was with who I consider a wing connoisseur even openly stated, "The Old State - The King of Wings."  I'd also have to say the prices are decent too.  Not Jack's Tavern, "best value in town prices," but fair.

I was there on a Thursday night and the crowd was moderate.  For football games, I'd imagine it'll be hard to get a seat, so keep that in mind.  Give it a try, I think you'll like.  Bee-sting and Jerk varieties were my favorite and you can mix and match.

Nice Job, Old State Tavern! Go forth and set the wing world on fire.
