Looks the same as it did 10 years ago. |
As for the Third Street Bridge, it took Media Borough Council being found in contempt of court before that actually got moving. Over two decades, and it's finally expected to be fixed in it's entirety come 2018/2019 (Yes, you'll be able to drive across it in both directions). We'll see how that turns out not that access to Media will be come more challenging now that multiple housing developments are underway at different locations throughout the municipality.
The new Wawa project is in better shape. After 6 years since the Media Inn was torn down, Media is on the verge of having this convenience store up and running come the 1st quarter of 2017. That wasn't without it issues either, but at least ground has been broken and work is well underway.
Here's vintage footage of the Media Inn being torn down in October 2010.
It's nice to see that the new Wawa has finally shown up on Wawa's store locator in the "Coming Soon" section. They say Spring 2017.
ReplyDeleteThe new Newtown Square site was started after the Media site finally started, but that location is already open.
Contempt of court, great job media borough
ReplyDeleteThat photo above looks like the corner of Beatty Rd and Providence Road, not the former site of the Media Inn. The building there is the former Penn affiliate medical building that's been closed for a while.
ReplyDeleteThat's correct. As I mentioned in the post, that was where the Media Hotel was proposed 10 years ago, not the site of the former Media Inn. Thx
