After 11 years, expect work to begin on razing the site proposed for Media's Hotel.

I may finally be coming down soon.

The new Wawa coming to Media at the intersection of Providence Road and Baltimore Avenue isn't the only thing happening on that side of town, reports are coming in that after 11 years, measurable work is about to take place on the site planned for a hotel.

The utility company was on site Friday identifying gas lines in order for demolition to take place and at least one person close to the matter says deals are actively being discussed to construct a new building.  Based on planning/zoning that has taken place in the past with the borough, that "new building" could be the start of a hotel in Media, PA.  It's not clear yet if the originally proposed Hampton Inn is still the hotel expected, but details will be shared as they develop.

Stay tuned! 2017 is shaping up to be the biggest development boon Media has ever seen.
