After 12 years since its proposal the site of the Hampton Inn is finally being razed.

It's been a long time coming, but the building on the site of the proposed hotel is finally being brought down.  Things are finally moving forward for the proposed Hampton Inn.

It shouldn't come as any surprise that Media Borough Council didn't give any advance updates or summarizations; they had no idea themselves regarding this project.

  1. Yeah, great! Now I'm really looking forward to gridlock on BOTH sides of town.

  2. Residents that live near this site better speak with a lawyer. Media Borough doesn't have your interests in mind

    2. It never does. Money walks money talks and that is what it is all about.

  3. So is it still going to be a Hampton, or are they just demolishing the old medical building?

  4. I understand all the concerns of gridlock within the Media Borough. However, this town of Media, PA has so much to offer. The Media Theater, the fine dining and drinking establishments all play a part in this. We need an established "hotel", where the visiting patrons of this town, may enjoy...Clean and Comfortable accommodations. May I say, that the local accommodations leave little to be desired. I have no idea why there is a need for another "suspected" Mega Wawa in Upper Providence Twp. Traffic is already a concern in the "By-Pass" area. Do we really need two Mega Wawa's in this small community? I would assume that the established stores in Media and Upper Providence will be closed. If the Mega Wawa comes to fruition, wouldn't that put our competing Sunoco's right out of business. The Sunoco at 252 & Rose Tree Road has been there for forever. The Sunoco in Media "Borough" may have a chance, because of their coffee, "Subway" franchise and gas. I hope that those overseeing this, know the consequences of what the traffic in these main intersections will mean. It's bad now, at each proposed site. Sorry. That's all.

    2. Your use of quotation marks is great. This "hotel" is being built behind my "home." My infant kid suddenly is "hacking" her head off. We received "communication" regarding demo that was roughly concurrent with when it began. The Borough's communication skills leave much to be desired. We need to demand more transparency from the Media Council. No minutes posted for the Council meetings or am I missing them? How is that normal? Springfield managed to get theirs up through Jan 2017. Where are Media's?

    4. Kristine couldn't agree more with you
Media Borough in addition to having poor communication skills doesn't build goodwill among neighbors allowing building to commence without proper communication and even ignoring their own borough ordinances some people have people on ATM have stated media borough council is for sale
Maybe there is some truth to that
