**** COMMUNITY UPDATE **** Per Media Borough Police Department "Numerous investigations and arrests for serious offenses to include Aggravated Assault" at Barrall Field and Media Elementary Scott-Lowrie Playground are now requiring the Media Police to enforce Borough Curfew Ordinances.

Why isn't Mayor Bob McMahon addressing these situations at the monthly borough council meetings?  The police report "Over recent weeks and months, the behavior of certain individuals at the Media Elementary Scott-Lowrie Playground and Barrall Field has resulted in numerous investigations and arrests for serious offenses to include Aggravated Assault." However, these incidents have been going on for much longer than a couple of months.

  1. Are arrests public record? Can we see who the Borough Police are arresting in our Borough?

  2. It's a shame it took a tragedysuch as the young youth who grew up in media and was arrested- now incarcerated to shed light on this problem at or near dark the police should have their lights on and clear the grounds seems simple this is the opinion of many area residents involved in the school district and Media Rec.

  3. But, but, but parks increase property values. Media needs to overpay for a crappy piece of mosquito infested swamp from an employee and call it a pocket park. The kids will have another nice place to "play". Hate has no home here!!! My neighbor's sign says so...

  4. Reactive not proactive with anything
It took a tragedy- that being the young man
Preying on kids at the playground to bring this issue into the light of day

  5. Every council meeting has a public comment Privledge of the floor section but typically anything stated falls of deaf ears and is ignred you should feel free to attend a council meeting

  6. Get ready for higher taxes. The state has a $1.5 billion deficit, so we are not likely to get any grant money for our "new park", the library, garage repairs, police etc. RTMSD already raised taxes this year and will ikely do it again soon since the state does not have any money to give away.

Keep an eye on the borough's debt service, budgeted at $438,000 for 2017. It was $220,604 back in 2015.

    1. Another article that has nothing do about the park and here's Mr. Pennoni still commenting on it.... Man, you just do not let it go do ya?

We've already got grant money for the park, so once again you speak not what you know.

    2. The truth hurts it's all connected to those that are deliberate and reasonable- the borough of media is.not forthright with anything involving its residents they seem too have an attitude of we'll do what we want hire who we want, approve construction projects, grant waivers to whom we want, ignore borough codes where it suits them, et al

    3. Must be a secret, I can't find anything about a grant the borough received for the park.

    4. Must be a personal donation / grant from the Natural Lands Trust councilman they're very good at raising money from polluting corporations and then buying large tracts of land

  7. Why is the debt service so high
Pensions, uncontrolled spending on pocket parks, the library, borough employees salaries, or just poor leadership in general
Does the borough have a triple A bond rating ?

  8. Seems like it's too high for all the cash they take in from the 1% borough income tax
or does all that go out the as fast as it comes in ? Even the lawyers don't want to have an office in media borough look at all the empty office space around
