It looks like Media Borough has been in overdrive with what could be considered a full-scale effort to develop every last inch of the borough. The picture above shows a lot more than anyone expected, or really even knew about.
Looking at the layout of what is anticipated, or perhaps even in some form of formal planning that's not known; what's in store will literally change the town. In the document, which is referred to as a "visioning exercise," there are three structures that look familiar enough to make the case they have or are currently being built.

That's not to say things aren't being done by council. They certainly had intent and initiative when they decided to accelerate a MERC zoning ordinance against Broomall Lake CC at 8am on a Friday morning. The legal notice for the meeting was found on page 37 of the Daily Times the day before. They were able to post a legal notice in the paper, but no one on council can take 30 seconds to explain current development projects?
Coincidentally, tonight is the Media Borough Workshop meeting which starts at 7:30pm. Unfortunately, there isn't an agenda posted as of this morning.
Let's hope councilwoman Amy Johnson can apply her same experience and abilities towards this like she did for the Media Farmer's Market.
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm...maybe that is why Council wants to re-zone Broomall's
Deleteonce Council over develops the town, council can say but look we saved Broomall's property as open space with the MERC Zoning. Who cares if Broomall's is private property we will do what we want.
I wish she would move the unregistered/uninspected truck back off the street again....
DeleteI received a letter from the borough stating this meeting was about the proposed new office building and parking garage for the county.
ReplyDeleteThe Old Wawa lot is in the red zone, you don't need a crystal ball to see that being redeveloped!
ReplyDeleteThat is unacceptable as that Wawa was promised to be kept open.
DeleteThe old Wawa is going to be one of these lots! Picture 9 is the existing flagship building. Olive Street Garage is falling down Prime spot? Town House lot is also going to be flattened and made into condos.
ReplyDeleteAre we sure media borough and Mcmayon
