Councilman Paul Robinson replaced by Amy Johnson for council VP slot

Paul Robinson has been replaced by Amy Johnson for the council VP position.

In a borough council reorganization meeting that happened in early January, Paul Robinson who held the vice president position was replaced by Amy Johnson.  There's been no formal explanation regarding the change, but it's apparent that Paul held many counter positions to the other 6 council people.  Most recently he debated against, the new Wawa and pocket park planned for 5th street.

Mr. Robinson remains on council and held the position of VP since 2014.  Media Borough council is made up of seven Democrats.

  1. Was it Amy's hiring of a $25 part-time gardener or running the Media's Famers market into the ground that got her promoted?

    1. It was her nose-thumbing to the ordinance of leaving an unregistered vehicle on the streets

  2. How exactly is this done by vote of council members or executive decision by the mayor ?

  3. Hiring a gardener didn't make any sense unless Amy uncovered how poorly run the streets department is in Media

The Farmers market opened the borough up to severe liability and ignoring the problem just made a bad decision worse
. The farmers market did however have good intentations

  5. He's been V.P. before. He'll be back. He puts a lot of time and effort into Media. They're lucky to have him on council in whatever capacity..

  6. There's a power struggle underway between the democrats. It's the Old Dems who are reasonable vs. the New Dems who are radical. Brian Hall supported Amy's opponent in the primary election and will now have to deal with that fall out.

Paul served and governed well for Media by being prepared and assertive enough to thoroughly debate the issues. You'll see 7-0 votes on everything from here on out.

  8. At least she doesn't directly have the
NIMBY syndrome due to living on the opposite side of town but her Friend and running mate Lisa Johndon lives very close
To the dam / bridge project that has been stalled for half a lifetime and likely longer

  9. Brian Hall was the puppeteer behind the Johnson marionette - he wanted anyone BUT Paul because Paul was legitimately working in the best interests of the borough, but to the consternation of the current (aka Sanders/Warren progressives) dem council. Its a shame it all comes down to this. Stand your ground Mr. Robinson!

    1. Robinson yes the voice of reason and the always one who is assigned to be the dissenter
I have no confidence that the council people don't interact prior to the public meetings that Are simply a show for the residents that show up to those meetings
If Robinson is truly independent and looking out for residents best interests he should run for Mayor
