Design plans are moving along for the 5th Street pocket park, but why hasn't anything been done on Third Street Bridge?

From the conceptual drawings, things are moving along for the 5th Street pocket park that's been driven by its own specific committee.  What's unclear is why Media Borough hasn't had the same focus on the Third Street Bridge project, which would provide an important access to and from Media.

Based on the information I've seen from the DEP, they are still waiting for the borough to submit their application before they can even begin their review and implementation process.  After being found in contempt of court and having a former councilperson pay for an undisclosed website that was used to lobby against the bridge; it may be another strategy of obstruction to slow roll the process.

  2. Did Brian Hall get paid for his legal handy work in his attempt to stop the bridge / dam project and isn't he an accident lawyer- far from having legal experience with riparian water rights and civil and structural expertise
How much money has the money had been spent on Lawyers and Enginners by Media Borough to date ?

    1. I'm a fierce independent and only like people who aren't afraid to do there job. There seems to be a left of Media Borough Staff who can't do there job. Entitlement, Laziness, not sure but it's apparent from the mayor to the Boroigh manger on down to the staff. The dealings with them indicate they resent anyone who try's to get them to do there job

  5. Wow, the cost of this 0.4 acre park, based on these concept plans has to be close to $500,000. Add the purchase price, closing costs, legal fees, engineering, permits this will exceed $1,000,000. I hope I'm wrong. Will this become another eyesore, like the dam, that will never be completed or maintained?

Who will even see it with all the landscape buffering. On the other hand it looks like a nice place for teens to drink and visitors to the court house to shoot up between hearings.

  8. There is no excuse for failing to submit the application to the DEP. The other principals in the bridge lawsuit should bring it back to court, to ask the court to find the Boro to be in continued contempt for refusing to comply in good faith with the court order in a timely manner. And ask the court to fine the Boro $5,000 a day for every day it fails to comply with the court order. That will motivate the Boro. Otherwise, the Boro will drag this out for another 20 years. As I recall, the school district reported last time than the cost of re-routing their school buses was about $50,000 a year. Taxpayers are paying for this deliberate delay.

    1. Brian Hall treated the adjacent neighbors of this park very poorly
It was I display for all to see at the pocket park meeting if indeed he was paid something for legal fees I would like to see those monies refunded to the boro this would be his penance for his contempt of court ruling that Media Borough received

  9. The park has nothing to do with the bridge. No need to pit one project against another. I'm for the bridge being rebuilt. It poses a safety concern not to make it happen
