I've received on good word that West End Flats is 90% leased. Despite being the most expensive apartments around, there is quite a desire to occupy them.
Anon October 2, @ 3:19 PM is 100% correct. And if people are willing to pay high end money to rent in money, they'll be winning to pay high end money to buy in Media. Flooding the borough with over 100 people willing to rent at the $2k / month level adds a ton of equity to one's home while all Anon Oct 1 @ 5:55 did was sit there and complain about it.
What is wrong with this apartment building? I am downsizing, selling large house and moving to it. It is very nice, and a short walk to everything I do, including trolley or train. Absent this building, I probably would have moved to center City or other Philly neighborhood. Instead I stay here, and spend my money in 19063. Ditto for several friends who are moving there, it have already moved in. This seems like a very good thing for Media. Some people love to complain about everything. Why?
It's too big and the same people on borough council that gave waivers from land development ordinances that allowed it to be that big are the same people that are spending $350,000 the purchase a pocket park. At the ONLY public meeting about the park council president state the the borough was purchasing the property, in part, to stop 3 home from being built there. Very Inconsistent "leadership".
Couldn't agree more perhaps a forensic account should be brought in to review the mayors, council, and code enforcements financial records to prove no illegal playoffs were given - this way everything is on the up and up !
Probably a lot of corporate money for people to live a year or two. Not everybody's hometown anymore.
ReplyDeleteWho cares, high end rents bring high end tenants and their spending dollars to the small businesses of media.
