Jeff

Pursuant to a formal FOIA submission, I'd like to request all email correspondence/discussions between Media Borough and any/all parties involved in the appraisal and/or offer put forth for property in the commercial district of Media, specifically 610 Painter St. Additionally, I like to request any contractual information regarding leasing of borough property adjacent to the newly developed West End Flats. I'll file an additional FOIA if needed.

I request that a copy of the following documents, either electronic or hard copy, be submitted to me at this email address: tedmano@gmail.com or mailed to 128 E. 6th Street.  Media, PA.

Disclosure of the requested information to me is in the public interest because it is likely to contribute significantly to public understanding of the operations or activities of the government and is not primarily in my commercial interest.

Thank you for your consideration of this request.

Sincerely,

Well, that didn’t take long.  Residents of the newly opened West End Flats aren’t too happy with the Media Highway department and the adjacent property they use to park trucks and equipment at.

As I hear, the early morning trash trucks and such with their vehicle back-up alarms are not making for a harmonious setting for those who recently plunked down around $1,700 a month for a dwelling.  To this end, an agreement of some sort has been worked out where apparently Media Borough will, for now, relocate the equipment to the Media Youth Center, while the vacated space will be used for additional parking for the West End Flats.  This should happen around the end of the year.

I understand the apartment complex will pay to use the space.  It's not clear how long the equipment will be kept in the area of the Media Youth Center.

  1. So, the folks who have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to purchase a home near the Youth Center ( some of whom have been living in our town for many decades) will be subjected to this noise at 5:00 in the morning just so the renters will not. Sounds fair. Who came up with this agreement? Everyone involved knew the lot with the equipment was there. Typical Media bullshit. Get ready for a fight.

  2. Sorry but the equipment was there before they started the project. TOUGH!!!! Don't move anything for anyone. The renters fault for renting there knowing the trucks were there. Don't like the noise, move in a year. Pick a different apartment in the place or find another location.

    1. Damn right! I 100% agree w/anon. 3;23 - what a crock for the borough to relocate equipment THAT WAS ALREADY THERE! Too bad for the renters who didn't check out the surroundings before signing a lease! This is as stupid as buying a house without finding out if there is a pipeline easement on property.....buy now, bitch about it later! What happened to personal accountability?

  7. This article has proven to be false. A report released said there were no complaints from residents in the apartments. Also sad to see the bitter comments.
