In the latest of the news regarding Media Borough's possible chicken ordinance, it seems that there is no light at the end of the tunnel. Last Thursday Borough Council approved the drafting of a chicken ordinance by a 5-0 margin. Council President Hall said that discussion on the draft would begin in the next Community Development Committee (CDC) meeting. The next meeting was scheduled on Aug. 27th. However. Mr. Hall mentioned in the Council meeting that the CDC meeting may be cancelled and the chicken ordinance discussion wouldn't pick up until late September.
Now on the Borough website it is confirmed the next CDC meeting has been cancelled. Why is this meeting being cancelled? Borough residents will now have to wait for another Borough Council meeting to be done for any update on what this ordinance will look like. Whether you support more regulation or less on chickens in the Borough it's clear that no one will see a hint of where this ordinance is going for another month.
A whole month! Oh the calamity!
ReplyDeleteOh the calamity...............pretty snarky guessing you DON"T HAVE RATS RUNNING AROUND YOUR BACKYARD.
DeleteThey don't want to hear from the public, typical move!
ReplyDeleteWhy can't they hold the community development committee meeting? How many people are on this committee?
ReplyDeletePretty ridiculous. Can't this town hold a regular schedule now?
ReplyDeleteAmy Johnson has chickens, is there any reason to doubt the new ordinance will not benefit her?
ReplyDeleteAs long as you're a member of the Media Democrats you could forget there was a meeting and everyone would forgive you.
ReplyDeleteASSHOLES!!!! Leave the chickens alone! Get rid of the people on Council instead!
ReplyDeleteA pack of jerks in Council or a flock of hens.
