3rd St. Bridge at a crossroad

Despite the pending court decision which will determine who actually owns the 3rd St. bridge, moving forward with the design phase and protecting the allocated state funding was the right thing to do.  A lot of people on Borough Council will hedge their bets on what decision to make based on how popular/unpopular the resident's response is to the final cost.  I understand that, but I encourage people to take positions on this, as this is a Media issue and not just a problem on the west side of town.

The longer this problem plays out, the greater the cost....to all of us.  13 years ago the estimated repair was a third of the cost that it is now.  The only thing worse than not coming to a solution on the bridge would be for Broomall Lake to sell off the property to a developer......and I'm sure no one wants to see that.

  2. The costs of reconstruction outweighs the needs of a new bridge! We've lived without it for over a decade, LET UPT REBUILD IF THEY REALLY WANT IT!

  3. Did they go after ARRA monies? As someone who grew up in Media, I would like to see it reopened. The area needs to stay the same, as far as any development is concerned, it plays an integral role in the ecosystem supporting the park.
