Vacant Apt. Building between Monroe and Jackson on 5th St.

If you've driven by 5th St. (between Monroe and Jackson St.) you may have noticed the Apt. building below in what looks like a state of abandonment.   I inquired about the situation and was told by Borough Officials that they were trying to reach the property owner in order to find out more about the situation.

I haven't seen cars out in the front parking lot for months and the main entrance door is warped to the point that it won't open or close and is currently ajar.  Interesting.

  1. Strange that any Media property would go vacant but especially a rental property like this one. Will be interested to what you find out.

  2. Hmmm...you should check with the residents in that area who have had their cars vandalized or have had notes left on their cars from parking in the lot. Did we mention how the lights in the bottom right hand corner apt randomly appear to come on in the middle of the night? Talk about abandonment...what an eyesore!! I agree with the other comment, a rental property in Media go unused...the owner must be a fool!!

  5. the building has been vacant for years now ,,probably a health hazard with no heat or air on to control MOLD issues ,, what took anyone so long to notice,, because the owner does show up occasionally to cut bushes and in winter did shovel a path in the parking area.......
