Media's Emergency Notification System.....and maybe Twitter.

Media needs to do a better job with their "Notification System."  It's definitely a step in the right direction, but the sign-up should be a lot easier than sending someone and email.  How about an option where you can sign-up online too!  Does it also do emails and SMS texts?

Is there a corresponding Twitter functionality for notifications of a non-critical nature?  Speaking of which, why wouldn't www.mediaborough.com have a twitter account? Like if Super Sunday, Dining Under the Stars, parades or committee meetings  were cancelled/rescheduled due to bad weather?  This could also address snow emergencies, power outages, notifications of crime and community events....to name a few.  Twitter has it's faults and doesn't have mission critical reliability, but it's pretty close, free and very effective to fulfill such a need/service.

Perhaps that is handled in part by www.visitmediapa.com but it should be an all inclusive notification system done by the Borough.

 Be sure to sign-up:www.mediaborugh.com
