Delaware County has acquired land just west of Media that will eventually allow for 100 acres of open space. The land (a.k.a. Mineral Hill), purchased from Elwyn Institute will be open to the public as a park in the next two years. Of interest is the notable mineral deposits this tract of land is known throughout the world for. Some of which included: feldspar, amazonite, chromite crystals and deweylite.
Delaware County Council has been a great advocate of open space and their record shows. Well done.
