Roger Ricker Democratic Candidate for Media Boro. Council

Regardless of the outcome of the May 17th Primary, I will be facing a democratic opponent.  I've had my disagreements with Roger Ricker who is running as a Democrat, but I also know he is an independent voice, one who has the best interest of Media in mind and a candidate that brings unity, not division.  I have the utmost respect for him standing up to the local party politics and the croynism he speaks of.  Media needs more of this!

The best thing for Media is to have qualified candidates for this November's election.

  1. Thank you, Tedman! I would like to work with you on Borough Council.
One thing...please edit slightly my revised comment about the Dem Committee--simply take out the 'ad hoc'. I was just informed they are elected officials of some sort.
How was I to know? They did not inform me of this until this evening. How such a simple thing as explaining who they are can get away from them is beyond me....

  2. Dude, I LOVE Roger's attitude! How is he not endorsed? And if so, what clowns ARE endorsed?

  3. I don't agree with how the transition was done, but I do think bipartisanship is needed in this town. Good Luck Roger!

  4. Oldest trick in the book: Divide your opponents and conquer.

I guess if you're a local Democrat, you've got to wonder why the head of the Media Republican party is so vehemently promoting a member of the opposite party.

So, Tedman, this means you're going to stand up to your local party politics as well?

  5. Actually I think what it means is that Tedman has the best interests of the town at heart and believes that, no matter what your official party standing, what's good is good.
Talk about division---how about the local Dem Committee NOT endorsing one of the most well known and very involved names on their ballot? Something definitely DOES smell rotten but it certainly is not Tedman.

  6. Why was Paul Robinson endorsed over Roger. Paul has already lost his last bid. He is endorsed because he is a crony of the Democratic establishment which goes back for a decade at least. Party politics at this level is silly. Vote for the best person. I suspect Frank Daily is still calling some of the shots since Debbie Krull use to work for him.

  7. Kent, why are you always so negative, cynical and mean?

  8. Some people are bitter because they live in the shadows, unable to figure out why their lives didn't turn out the way they wanted them to. Perhaps they allow themselves to be too controlled by certain Dems of Media Borough. Come on, break out...what are they going to do to you, Kent?
Do you enjoy moving from town to town and just being a nasty person?

  9. Media PA News is a relic of a past this town needs to move away from - one party - one person rule, backed by mindless council members who are told what to do - devoid of any free thought. The personality traits of your typical hardcore party footsoldiers include antagonism, arrogance, and an inability to look beyond their party's direction despite the implications to the 'people' they serve. Everything their party mandates is good, everything the other side does is bad, and should the other side cross over or propose something out of the usual rules of political warfare, they're inclined to call out conspiracies in the absense of rational, unbiased thought.

Media caught a major break last year when two council members chose to place the needs and care of this town over that of their local political party - the long term effects could keep the borough steady as uneasy political and economic winds grow stronger. The fact that they can legislate without having an agenda or someone pulling the proverbial strings in the background means that their committment to Media first and foremost will not be compromised.

The approach I see displayed by Roger and Tedman indicate that this new school of thought in Media Borough has the potential to grow to the benefit of our community in lieu of being a temporary reprieve. I would be honored to be represented by both of you on council and I wish the two of you the best in achieving your goals this fall.

  11. I WILL VOTE FOR ROGER, IF HE MAKES IT TO THE GENERAL ELECTION. WHICH I HOPE HE DOES. HE SEEMS TO BE AN INDEPENDENT THINKER. SOMETHING WE NEED MORE OF IN MEDIA. TEDMAN HAS MY VOTE IN THE PRIMARY.

DOES THAT MAKE ME BI-PARTISAN? I HOPE SO.

  12. I know Frank Daly and sir you are no Frank Daly.

  13. I also know Frank Daly and he is no asset to Media. He is a hack politician and so is Debbie Krull who is head of the Democratic Party and use to be an employee of Frank's. Frank still runs the Democratic Party.
