3rd St. Bridge: Media Democrats snarled in serious controversy with Special Interest Group

Unfortunately, Media borough has a serious matter going on with the Third street bridge project that should raise a lot of concern in this town, the stake holders (county, BLCC) adjoining communities, and the RTM school district!   This is a project that is fully funded with an agreed upon design in place that could be given the green light to proceed at anytime.  In fact, Penndot and the funding behind it is on record urging borough council for a decision.  So what could possibly be holding this up?
FROG website hosted by Councilman Kent Davidson

Based on what's emerged, it shows borough council has been less than than transparent, at least as far as councilman Kent Davidson goes.  It's been found that Kent Davidson not only registered Friends of the Glen Providence Park's website through his company (Market Acumen, Inc.), but is also providing service to them on a server he maintains.  He even renewed their domain name just last month!  This is a group actively lobbying against the borough's current decision on the bridge!

A $3.4 million project that's being opposed by a special interest group (FROGs) and Councilman Davidson's company is registering and hosting their website which has been used to influence, petition and advance positions in front of borough council?  Whose side is he on?  Does this uphold his fiduciary responsibility to objectively represent the best interests of this town? UNBELIEVABLE!

Market Acumen, Inc. founded by Kent Davidson
Are the Friends of the Glen Providence Park (FROGS) paying Davidson for the service? He signed their petition for a greenway.  Terry Rumsey, the co-chair of the FROGs was also appointed to the Borough's Citizens Advisory Council as chairman to provide recommendations on the bridge project. Appears he was aided by a website provided by councilman Davidson's company.  Was this ever disclosed and does anyone else on borough council know about this?  How can the residents of Media believe they are being treated and represented fairly when this non-sense is going on with a $3.4 million project?!?!?!?!?!!  TRANSPARENCY? LEADERSHIP YOU CAN TRUST?

Looks like Kent Davidson is out to manipulate a certain public opinion in order to "suit the particular politics of current leadership," which is his.  Or, at least he thinks it is.

Councilman Davidson's 2011 campaign literature.
Below you'll find that www.glenprovidencepark.org (FROGs website)renewed just last month,  is registered to a company called Market Acumen owned by councilman Kent Davidson.  It's also important to point out that the FROGs website is on the same exact server as his blog, www.mediapanews.com. Both residing at IP: 216.70.101.90.   So here we are as residents thinking this borough council has our best interests in mind, while one of them is secretly involved with a group actively lobbying Media over $3.4 million bridge project!!!

  1. Do as I say, not as I do, this is the standard for politics in Media!

  2. Great job uncovering these facts. Kent is the king of conflict of interest, for sure.

  3. Undermined by the democrats is nothing new to this town. They've been doing it for years. decades for this bridge project alone.

  4. Talk about special interest groups: BLCC is a PRIVATELY OWNED club!!?

This comment most likely won't post either, since Tedman is clearly choosing which ones to post (the one I made previously hasn't showed up).

    1. No one has ever disputed the fact that BLCC is privately owned (and pays taxes)- but also to that end one could say that Park Edge Ave. residents (hmmm, how many of those residents have signed the FROG petition - 100%?) are private entities whose one and only conviction it is to keep this bridge project from moving forward?
Funny how when they were having their all important 'bridge meeting' last Tuesday that several attendees were quite miffed about having to move their vehicles off of the 'private property' parking lot that they so convieniently left their vehicles in. Wouldn't they have been able to access street parking if, say, the bridge was an actual THROUGHWAY!

  5. Media has had and still in many cases a good council both GOP and Dem.
But it is so obvious that this bridge project is being manipulated by the frog nimbys.
Environmental, pedestrian, aestetic, concerns can all be accomplished with two lanes of traffic...
Frogs hope delays will result in project being scrapped to keep their
    de facto gated commuinity intact.

  6. Are you serious with this garbage. I don't agree with Kent Davidson's politics but I certainly don't agree with this article. This is trying to create something out of nothing, and trying to tarnish Kent's image and integrity. I don't agree with Kent but i think he is a good person and great guy that wants to do what is best for Media. This mudslinging is really not needed. Stick to the issues.

    1. If Davidson had any integrity or common sense he would have distanced himself from the group when it suddenly came back to life last year. Ethics would have guided a decision not to buy or host or maintain the site as a strong conflict of interest was looming. That being said, ethics, common sense and the Media Dems/Ba'ath party have rarely commingled in this town over the last thirty years, so why would anyone around here expect it to be any different?

    2. Agree mudslinging not need but lets focus on the real issue...two lanes and move forward.

  7. I'm glad I chose to buy a house in Springfield and not in Media. 1/3 of the taxes, bigger house, more yard, traffic lights and a government that actually work. Go Springfield!!!!

  9. that fraud posted a reply on his imitation blog. Complete with the typical over-use of boldface for the subliminal effect, it still does nothing to explain the real connection above other than to set it to a fairytale no person with common sense would fall for.

  10. Mr. Davidson is squealing because he got caught. He could have posted on his blog a long time ago about the findings he withheld, but nobody else knew of until recently. SHAMEFUL!

  12. To Frank Daly,

Mr. Daly, if you're out there and reading this blog, please come back! Have Mr. Davidson step down so you can be appointed.

We're loosing hope and our town.

    1. Mr. Daly is still calling the shots. Debbie K. runs the Democratic show right out of Mr. Daly's law office. The rest are puppets. A leaf doesn't fall on West Street that Mr. Daly doesn't know about.

    2. I asked Frank Daly why so many leaves seem to fall my property instead of his. His reply was that Tedman wants it that way.

  13. I will tell what really bothers me about about this whole thing. The FROG's acronym!! Where does anyone come off using Frogs to describe that group. It is "friends of glen providence park" where the heck does frogs come from? I understand the fr part I guess but that is a bit of a stretch. O obviously stands for of and G for glen - what about the rest!!! Is anyone else out there as fired up as me? These people are so pompous that they come up with a half baked acronym to define their group!. Frogs really stands for "friends of glen" that's it. And I am not sure about the S either but I digress. A person who would renew a domain name for a group that is guilty of poor acronym use clearly should be removed from media council! Ehh! Am I right comrades, ehhh!!

    2. From what I can tell, the frogs are a bunch of malcontents who protest everything under the sun with the exception of Media's Bastille Day celebration and the solstices.

  16. The fact that this group wants to install an electic gate tells you everything you need to know. The original case for breaching the dam was environmental and preserving the park. Unfortunatley this case was made by people who live on Parks Edge who's houses did more damage than the road will ever do.The next argument is that the footprint of the dam should be smaller to reduce the impact on the environment. The only way to do this would be concrete according to PenDot and any one who knows anything about construction will tell you that concrete leaves a huge carbon footprint compared to an earth structure. The group knows this since it was addressed at the first meeting with the engineer but does not care because they are only concerned with the neighborhood they live in, forget about thinking globally. Bottom line is that this group, especially the members who live on 3rd and on Parks Edge Lane do not want cars disrupting the gated community they have enjoyed. The fact that they want to keep neighbors out with a gate is unreal and selfish.
All we heard during the meetings from that side was that a new dam will be too dangerous, but leaving it in the current state is somehow safe? They want the dam taken down to destroy the eco system that currently exist around the lake and to keep neighbors from being able to come into their town.
The CAC survey was a joke no matter how many times Terry Rumsey says they did a great job and worked hard. Please do not confuse work with results because putting an option for a bridge with a stream running under it was never researched since it would cost over 10xs as much as the dam. If given the only two reqal options of new dam or breaching the old and leaving a void the vote would not have been close. We have a bunch of people who live in an echo chamber and who hide behind phoney environmental concerns. You do not speak for the community.

  17. Electric gate? Media is not Arizona, trying to keep illegals south of the border. Or are we? Hell, let's put a gate on Baltimore Pike, with a toal.

    1. Great idea 2012 6:58 AM. Electric gates at all entrances to Media. Tolls to be collected by the FROGS. Residents can use Easy-Pass. "Everybody's Hometown." Not.

  18. I don't think stopping the bridge is enough. I propose a full-fledged moat to be constructed around the borough. Build high walls to allow us to dump boiling oil or tar on any enemies that may come our way from Middletown, Edgemont or Upper Providence. Tolls will be stringent and will go to the upkeep and profit of Davidson's FROGS site. Visitors will also be subject to strict body cavity searches until it is determind that said visitor is not an environmental threat to the park.

  19. Someone had better make sure this sneak Davidson hasn't created other websites. Like FOFMI (Friends of Former Media Inn)We don't need a bunch of FOFMI's running around opposing Wawa. He probably has one against his favorite subject, Media Theatre.
