Important Update From PECO Conf. Call on Ongoing Power Outages

#delcosnow

Middletown Township - Delco, PA Republican Party2/6 PM update on power outages in Middletown Township from a Conference Call with PECO at 3pm Thursday:
This is the second largest outage in PECO history behind Hurricane Sandy. 1,500 of the ~ 4,500 homes in the Township are without power. Area wide, PECO has reduced outages from 715,000 to 417,000 (42,000 in Delaware County) in the past 24 hours. PECO's focus remains on priority 1 areas (critical roadways, hospitals, sewage treatment) before they get to schools (Priority 2) and then residences in the 6 county area.

PECO hopes to get the outage number down to 300,000 tomorrow, these customers will be the beneficiaries of their proximity to repairs in Priority 1 and 2 areas. Surrounding utility companies will have crews here and working Friday, PECO said any more labor on hand and they become over-saturated with the help. They expect to have the full grid up and running by Sunday with some stragglers in to next week.

So no new news for Middletown - Estimated Time of Restoration (ETR's) remain in days, not hours. PECO is recommending if you are without power that you make arrangements to stay elsewhere through the weekend.
