State Senator Tom McGarrigle recently secured $369,146.95 in grants for Fire and EMS services (26th District). Of that, over $21,000 will be going to the Media Fire Hook and Ladder #1.
“It is critical that our state government provide funding to our local Fire and EMS companies to help protect the lives, homes, and properties in our communities. We need to be certain that our firefighters and EMS technicians, the majority of which are volunteers, have the resources necessary for proper training, advanced equipment and modern facilities.”
State Senator, Tom McGarrigle

  1. Confusing. The grants were fined through the State’s Fire Company Volunteer and Ambulance Grant Program, with a pretty complex set of award criteria. Plus, isn't this last year's round of grant applications? Not sure any state senator had the ability to "secure" this funding or even substantially affect the decision as to which applications should be funded, let alone a senator who took office just a few short weeks ago. Nice press release though.
