Media to Celebrate Bike to Work Day May 15th
Can’t Make It? Join DCTMA’s ‘Social Media Cycle Challenge’

MEDIA, PA – It’s warm, it’s sunny, it’s the perfect time to dust off and tune up those bicycles after our cold and snowy winter.

Delaware County Transportation Management Association (DCTMA) and the Delaware County Planning Department will host the 14th Annual Bike to Work Day Friday, May 15th at 8:30 a.m. The event will be held on the grounds of the Courthouse at Front and Olive Streets for a fun-filled morning celebration. Participants are invited to enjoy a light breakfast and refreshments, raffle prizes, free giveaways, bike trail maps and safety information. Plus, an out-of-service SEPTA bus will be on location for live demonstrations on ‘how to’ mount a bike on the front of the vehicle.

Bike to Work Day is presented by Boeing and Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union.

Social Media Cycle Challenge
For cyclists who aren’t able to attend on May 15th, DCTMA will celebrate throughout May, which is National Bike Month. Cyclists can sign up for DCTMA’s first-ever ‘Social Media Cycle Challenge.’ Participants may choose any day (or days) in May to ride a bike to work instead of drive, and take a photo either en route, or upon arrival at work. Cyclists can then share their photos and any comments about riding to work three ways:
  1. Post to facebook.com/dctma
  2. Post to twitter.com/DC_TMA
  3. Email lturton@dctma.org and we’ll post for you
Once posted, participants will be entered to win prizes. The drawing will be held end of May.
