Refreshing to see someone take the lead on what's becoming a big issues for Delaware County.

  1. Wasn't the archdiocese selling the land to pay down debt? Donating the land would leave the debt alone while also eliminating the asset. The church might as well hold on to the land if Marple won't let it be sold for development. Shouldn't a republican candidate have a bit more understanding of the financial background? He implies that developing the land is not in the best Christian tradition. That's just a cheap shot; shallow grandstanding.

Maybe if Alex Charlton feels so strongly, he should setup a crowd source campaign to fund buying the land from the archdiocese in order to donate it. Everyone would win. I'd bet the local Catholic churches would even help get the word out.
