Media's 2017 Bastille Day on State Street has been cancelled due to lack of appropriate resources
I'm not quite sure how many years it's been going on, but this year's Media Bastille Day on State Street has been cancelled due to lack of appropriate resources. There's a possibility is may return next year.
Bastille Day was always sponsored by Media Arts Council's budget, with some additional funds from a small handful of businesses. Recently, the MBA may have contributed to the budget, but the festival was historically a 2nd Saturday event by MAC. It was never directly run or funded by the borough.
...but it was indirectly funded by Media Borough who have line items in the budget for Media Arts Council and the MBA. The infighting by these groups with council is killing this town.
Sure...but that doesn't make them responsible for how MAC spends their budget and I don't necessarily think that obligates them to increase their funding to MAC or the MBA.
Bring back the 4th of July Parade! Yippee!
ReplyDeleteThere NEVER was a 4th of July parade.
ReplyDeleteYes, there was! I road my decorated bike in it!
DeleteThat must have been before the Socialists took over Media. There at one time were fireworks at Glen Providence Park!
DeleteHas Loic done something wrong and this is his punishment ?

ReplyDeleteBut 300K plus can go to buy swamp land and another 100K minimum to turn it into a "pocket Park" BRILLANT
Winner of most ironic comment on here. Misspelling "brilliant" perfect. Thank you.
DeleteA story needs to be done on Olive St garage. It's falling down again and some spaces were sectioned off by the Media Police recently.
ReplyDeleteIt's Trump's fault
ReplyDeleteC'est dommage.

DeleteHave you ever had even a two minute discussion with the Mayor? The guy is out to lunch.
ReplyDeleteThe restaurants owners have had enough of Zubair and the MBA. They are looking to have a change made there.
ReplyDeletePlease by all means and change the mayor as well
