A case can be made that Media Borough did the same thing.

This week an ethics complaint was filed against Middletown Township over the easements needed by Sunoco to construct the highly contentious ME2 pipeline.  The complaint was based on a few issues noted:

Evans based his complaint on several issues. He noted neither a written contract nor rate of compensation was determined between Flandreau and the township. Evans added he attended two public meetings and “very little information was provided and whatever negotiations Mr. Flandreau was conducting was not revealed.”
Evans wrote Flandreau “ignored the open space preserved status of the properties and was indifferent to the township’s home rule charter authority to deny the sale.” He also questioned a statement by council President Mark Kirchgasser that the township did not have a choice about the sale and if denied, Sunoco would have seized the land under eminent domain.
Truth be told, the same complaint could be filed against Media for the exact same reasons.  Media approved an easement needed for the construction of the pipeline over land they owned in Middletown.  Media received $350k for the easement, but never provided any details on what was negotiated, safety assessments, or risk analysis.

Council President, Brian Hall still hasn't provided the information that was requested a year ago.  Click to view the video below queued to the point where Brian gives an explanation.  Has anyone seen the information he claims was discussed by borough council?

  1. Was this not the land that Aqua still operates on? They would have needed to sign off on the easement since they still operate there, even if Media Borough is the one that still technically "owns" the land.

    1. As a resident of media is does seem like media borough took the money and ran but who knows they
Media borough likely had to sign a non-disclosure agreement with Sunoco ?

  2. What an embarrassment for Media. A town that prides itself on being "green" has no problem taking the cash for a pipeline.

Here's how the negotiation went: "Shhh, let's hope no one finds out about this. That said, make the check out to Media Borough."

  3. Hall should stick to personal liability cases
He has no idea what would happen if there is a safety incident related to ME2
    Embrassing for Media Borough

  4. It's no surprise anymore. This group never follows up on anything unless it's a flash meeting to re-zone something at 8am on a Saturday. A year? Really?

  5. With this incompetence, there's no way these people hold day jobs. THERE IS JUST NO WAY

  6. Tedman, make Media Great Again! Btw, there's nothing on the borough website about any assessments regarding the pipeline. The only reason they wouldn't be there is because they don't have them. Probably didn't think they'd be called out.

  7. Perhaps this website should act as a default citizens action committee and have a strong showing at the next meeting
Demanding answers plus the greater public can see the brow beating that Hall would give residents that would show up to a meeting like this

  9. Brian Hall has the NIMBY syndrome when it comes to the third street dam bridge but doesn't at least put on a show to act like he cares about safety of Middleton residents
And says we're just a landowner ? He is an embarrassment to Media ? Then goes on to harress BLCC over rezoning there land
He even treats residents with contempt
I.e. Pocket park meeting the second one that residents were given several hours notification
