When things aren't getting done in the borough, I am typically contacted to bring light towards the matter. Whether it's snow removal, bamboo trimming, damage, noise complaints, etc. Truthfully, I don't like making posts like this because it's hard to separate what has is, or has been done, but I dislike lack of action and results even more.
Media Borough at one time had an incident management website, Public Stuff for exactly these kind of issues, but that was taken down without any explanation. Unfortunately, it was also never updated.
I looked into the issue and the wires do need to be better addressed or at least explained why they are bundled like they are.
I know one of the media police officers he is a veteran and to call him useless is offensive. Your situation does sound troublesome. Did you live in upper providence ? Perhaps the problem is that leadership is broken in Media Borough
ReplyDeleteLocal gov't priorities are not aligned with the 3200 residents that live here. yes media borough sponsors all these great activities but try and get someone in local gov't to help you with any kind of issue noose compliants, bldg code problems, zoning, etc
Perhaps you need to send a certified letter

Well said, Anon 1:21. While some folks may have had a legitimate issue with individual officers, I have always found the Media Police extremely helpful and immediately responsive on the few occasions when I've had to call them on very serious and urgent matters. But they are not responsible for Borough management.
DeleteAs Anon. says, the issue here is Borough leadership. But this is the same group of people Media voters keep re-electing year after year. Maybe the real leadership issues begin with local voters.
I suppose this doesn't fall within the work scope of the borough's part-time gardener who receives $25 per hour. The borough's priorities are all messed up.

Also if someone has an issue they often times go right to a council person which in some cases isn't the best way to proceed
This is how individual agendas start and things that aren't above board get slipped through this is true in many cases
The default response you get from Media Borough is no response and no action
And why do we have Communoty Conflict Center" on the borough hall sign what community conflict of notable news got solved here ?
A lot of this council doesn't even show up prepared at their meetings. The running joke the last few months is that the solicitor Bob Scott hasn't presented a report in months. They all have a hearty chuckle and move on. It's no wonder things are chaotic and not getting done.

DeleteApproximately 7 years ago, a woman, who was clearly intoxicated, "fell" on my sidewalk. The Media PD officer who knocked at the door was very unprofessional and was desperately attempting to escalate the situation for reasons unknown to me. He may have known the woman, bored, or was profiling (i'm white, relatively young, and ex-military). It was a horrible interaction and left me with a bad vibe for the Media PD.

Just look at what's happened in south jersey and the pharmaceutical dispensaries issuing prescribing expensive topical creams that are very pricey but are nothing more Then a placebo that insurance companies are paying for many police, firefighters, and even teachers are caught up on this now Federal dragnet
Does the crosswalk signage work now or not ? If a pedestrian is hit as a result of the crosswalk not working who is liable ?
ReplyDeleteThe signal was struck by lightening and the wait is for a part. The light cycles as do the pedestrian signs, but the ped buttons are out of order and don't give the pedestrian a head start. Nothing was ignored, cops aren't incompetent, sky isn't falling.
